Writing McBurnie off after starting in 5 games

Excellent link play when playing the deeper role, including one excellent run from deep. Looks good in his preferred position which we've only seen him fleetingly. Has a long way to go with his defensive work however.

The classic "prove me wrong" argument, the key move of someone who can't back anything they say up.

Then if the person can't be fucked to argue with a troll on the internet, if seems like you've won.

First Clarke, now McBurnie, who's next I wonder. Lanky strikers watch out.

The absolute state of it when you have people calling other fans apologists because they don't unfairly call one of our own players utter shit.

You're a disgrace.

I think this post is spot on but works on either argument.

Unfortunately you lose respect with the way you wrote it. It’s full of BS.

He's a goalscorer, I couldn't give a shit what else he does, if he scores goals.

Not entirely true, our system depends on players doing their bit. As long as he does his bit and scores he’s ok. He didn’t do bad yesterday to say he came on at the point where we had a footballing brain fart for 20 mins.

McBurnie’s problem is perspective:

Firstly, he cost twice as much as Lys Mousset - who has turned out to be an almighty god trapped in a human form.

Secondly he’s been hit and miss, and the games he has played well in:
-Great header vs Leicester
-Nice goal and amazing almost-assist to Didsy vs Southampton
-Made Van Dijk earn his paycheck and defended like Terry Butcher vs Liverpool

... are the games we’ve lost.
If we didn’t have Moose, and these performances had come in games we’d won or drawn then I think he’d only be getting stick for his idiot drink-driving and owl jumper antics.
