only a true owl would phrase it that wayHow can we be a work in progress ?
Last season we were a good side our 3 best players went and now we are above average we are going backwards
You say this again and again.
I see the previous chairman is now the co-chairman.
I see our best player sold in the summer, an act that the previous chairman, now co-chairman, was notorious for.
I see the hand of the previous chairman in the Ched Evans saga
You remember every detail of negativity, t
what about it being the previous chairman who took us to the prem
the previous chairman who funded 3 3rd place finishes , and paid 4m for players
the previous chairman whos took a championship and league one club to 3 fa cup semis , several prem teams got nowhere near that
but hey ho lets just slag everything we do as shite
and how anything Ched did was mccabes fault beggars belief
And Maguire asked to go , for money , no one can stop that
try and be a fan and see a bit of positivity , you might enjoy it
Oh dearonly a true owl would phrase it that way
going backwards /
where werre we a year ago today
only 1 player went , the other 2 werent ours , Clough had no say in it
Oh dear
second time I've been accused of being a pig on here this week
Maguire Brayford and coady were 3 of our best players
You "don't give a shit who is in charge now" so I'm afraid I can't "respect your point" because the whole point I am trying to get across to you is to give the new board and owner, together with their chosen manager, time to succeed or fail. In the meantime don't spoil quality threads about today's issues by dragging up historic events. We all agree and regret that KM made big mistakes in the past but now funding and direction is not his sole responsibility. I think the club will pass fully to the new owner before long, in fact I'm almost certain.
You are not wrong about the past, nor am I saying we are definitely going to succeed. You misunderstand a lot of what I have been saying to you, I just think the past is not relevant to the here and now and spoils debate about the here and now.
The key to our future success is "who is in charge now" - how good they are, how much they invest, which managers they choose, and so on. In this context it's the current performance of our manager that matters to me. I think the new owner and board are fulfilling their part up to now and the manager has done well overall since he arrived. However we are not racing certainties to go up this season and stay up. Let's see how it all pans out and then make our minds up where we stand. Whatever, it's nothing to do with Warnock and Beattie any more.
You are articulate and passionate about those days gone by, trouble is it's history and because we have new owners, largely irrelevant. Always good to whip up a bout of anti-board posts but irrelevant. Live for the here and now. If the new guys are half hearted or lack judgement, that's what we need to worry about."
I remember the good and the bad.
I give McCabe great credit for most of his stewardship up until December 2006. He was a positive force for the club then. I have great memories of 2003 and 2006.
I give him great credit for the way he dealt with the Tevez matter.
I give him credit for funding a run at promotion in 2008 (shame about who he picked to spend the money).
I think he backed Wilson properly in 2012, and he was unlucky that his funding did not secure promotion. I think Wilson did a pretty good job on the whole.
If someone says that McCabe has made nothing but mistakes, I will defend him on that. I am capable of seeing both sides of things. I don't complain when someone doesn't completely buy into my world view. I can analyse rather than say in a pavlovian fashion "everyone loses games - look at Real Madrid" or similar.
Anyway, I've wasted enough of my time on you.
They played for us last seasonBut Brayford and Coady werent ours to retain
how could we keep them if their clubswouldnt let us, we could only ask if they were available
If youd stop putting clough is to blame for things he has no control over , like Maguire , a talented players gets the chance to jump 2 divisiond and get paid 4/5 times aas much , hes going to go , even if we went down on bended knees and begged
Stop blaming the club for things theyu cant do anything about
They played for us last season
they left
they weren't replaced
the ins and outs of why or where they went are irrelevant ,they went and they weren't replaced
I haven't blamed clough for anything by the way I think he has done a great job considering the budgetary restraints he works under
I think you should read my posts properly before you call me a Wednesday fan
I've got concerns about the club ,I'm worried we will still be in LG 1 next year
I'm worried because I don't see any clear strategy from anyone at the club to get us out of here
I think clough and his team used their contacts in the game well last season and I'm guessing extra money was made available to avoid a financially disastrous relegation
I think not getting promoted is equally as disastrous and I think an outlay similar to last season's would be enough to put together a good run like last season's and start competing at a higher level
No it's not ,our from over this season is patchy it's good enough for the play offs and that's not good enough no ,not for usso being 5th and second on form isnt moving forward, if there were a glut of forwards out there waiting to be cherry picked Id agree , but that particular cherry tree bears no fruit just now
And why does no one realise 2 of our "forwards" have been out injured
That's because they're idiotsHate to say this but if it were Wednesday where we are 5th and in good point scoring form their fans would be 5000% BEHIND THEM , WHY ARE WE 50 /50
IT SADDENS ME
no we werent , we were dreadful at times we got results , we were dog shit at fulham but luckily so were they JUST AS AN EXAMPLENo it's not ,our from over this season is patchy it's good enough for the play offs and that's not good enough no ,not for us
The three players I mentioned weren't forwards but they were quality at this level
a forward should have been signed as well as their replacements
We were a good side last season with quality all over the park ,I look at our side now and I don't see one single player who stands out at this level
I like some of the play and I still think this season is salvageable if we move fast and Decisively but I'm not sure we have the people at the club to do it
you are all over the place mateno we werent , we were dreadful at times we got results , we were dog shit at fulham but luckily so were they JUST AS AN EXAMPLE
no team plays great all the time , thats why edited highlights make games look good
we are 2/3 quality players light as theres not 2./3 quality players avaiable for anyone
even the players we are hoping to bring in arent ANY WHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS YOU COULD PICK UP 10 YEARS GO
We orgasm over Brayford but 10 years ago would not have given him a look in , such has the standard dropped all over football , the championship is piss poor to how it was , players across the board arent as good
loyal idiots, if you truly love something you ignore some of the bad stuff , not keep it in a diary and keep bringing it upThat's because they're idiots
let stuff go , its gone ,stop raking up the pastyou are all over the place mate
loyal idiots, if you truly love something you ignore some of the bad stuff , not keep it in a diary and keep bringing it up
So your only a top blade if you forget about all the bad stuff and stay loyal to your club ?let stuff go , its gone ,stop raking up the past
The new regime used up its goodwill with me when they sold Maguire after telling us we didn't need to and then trousered the moneyWell it's been a long thread, far better supported than it deserved.
Now It's back to the usual level and I'm weary of it.
This "missionary work"is exhausting I must say, and what's it got to do with me anyway? I take that point offered above by a non-believer to me a newcomer with only 600 posts on here and with experience of the excellent 606 site and the awful Bladesmad site.
The irony is that my missionary workis born from the simple hope that everyone gives the new owner and the new manager time to lift the football club, free from all previous baggage. Not a lot to hope for and encourage. It's a one topic mission but the natives are set in their ways; they love their McCabe rituals and will not be content until he sacrifices himself at their altar ( he's done half a sacrifice already by the way). Not sure what happens after that though. Watch out your highness!

The subsequent Bullshit and the crawling to Hull offering him up didn't help either
Not going in for coady or Brayford with the money we maDe from that sale plus through cup money season ticket money and then the whole ched debacle
It might be noted that I've had about 100 "likes" in about a month which tells us something.
I knew you wouldn't be able to answer.
well done mateGood points judge and I have my understandings of the reasoning but I really am weary of battling away on here for a while. After a long holiday I've returned home and have less time on my hands! I just hope my perspectives have at least been food for thought. It might be noted that I've had about 100 "likes" in about a month which tells us something.
Really ? How much did we bid for him ?is it just me thats seen Brayford playing for his parent club ?
we asked to have him they said no , what do you want us to break in and steal him

you miss a lot of thingsReally ? How much did we bid for him ?
I must have missed that
. I'll give you a clue why there are cynics. People believe change when they see change, not when someone tells them.
what's the relevance of that blog ?
