clough did a great job last season no disputing that

With a bit of backing could have done as well this season too

He hasn't though has he ?

Some of us think he is getting on with it - and the season isn't even half way yet.

Not to everyone's speed though............that's why tis post has gone the way of other.

Final point: SUFC lose money every season - who funds that loss?

Who are these knockers that will disappear?

I've made the same comments about us all season. Neither overly positive or negative, just my version of realism.

I didnt mean you fella for what its worth.

But Cloughs got us playing football again his team selections and tactics are sometimes bizarre but his record up to now speaks for its self

I couldn't disagree with this statement if I wanted to. It nails it. We don't think we live in the Premiership, we aren't up there with Man U, Chelsea, even West Ham or Stoke to be honest but we should be there with Forest, Derby, Leeds, Snortbeasts, Reading and above Rotherham FFS. You sum it up well Alco, it takes a special sort of effort to mismanage a club to this depth seeing where we came from. You can make all the blade, bladey bladeness excuses you like and you can forgive him as many times as you like but the facts speak for themselves. It isn't Robson, Warnock, Blackwell, Wilson, Adams, Morgan, Speed, Weir or Clough who have us where we are. They have all been and gone (bar one). There is a person who took the glory when we got up to the top and having got there under his excellent stewardship it hurts even more that we are where we are. We are here because of Kevin McCabe. His appointments, his sackings and his utter madness since 2007 have sunk us here. We don't belong here but if we aren't careful we may make enough excuses that this is where we reside for the foreseeable.

We glimpsed a 5 bedroom detached in Kensington, how come we are now living out of a cardboard box in Hartlepool?

Bladesway I have spent a fair bit of time trying to tell you we have a new ownership with a new agenda and that McCabe will be history soon, it's obvious.

However, given just the slightest encouragement, and it was only slight, off you go again on your personal "trip" back to 2007. My negative memories of the ownership in this club go back unabated, not a single good owner, since 1964 which is the date I was old enough to make my own mind up. McCabe at least had the good of the club at heart, not like so many of the others. We have been a selling club since the 1950's, without a single interruption.

For your sake I think it will be inconvenient if we are successful while McCabe still shares the ownership. You have a personal stake in his failure, you are on a mission. You hate everything the man stands for and I wonder where you will turn when the prince finally buys out his share. How long will you give his royalty?

No matter how hard the prince tries, no matter how much money he throws in, success is not there on a plate and no god given right.

Judge, I'm sorry I didn't know you existed until you started putting "Bullshit" after my posts.

Yep, I like lots of things about us and the jobs Clough's done, I'm just really frustrated that we are too cautious for too long, especially at home.

I honestly had not noticed your posts prior to this last month. Posters names mean little to me, I try to treat posts on their merits.

When other posters get abusive though that approach inevitably alters.

I couldn't care less about your snide little digs
if you think that I was being abusive by calling your post Bullshit then I apologise
for offending you

No need to apologise at all. Just debate points rather than attack them without substance. This is a quality forum.

We are in League Division 3, renting our home and the twat McWobbleGob is still at BDTBL
Yep everything is rosie

Its when the negativity becomes the default position , Cloughs been here a year , thats a year
he inherited the biggest pile of shite weve probably ever had

Is it really fair to start whining 12 months into starting from scratch with what was in the first 6 months little to no help financially
Yes theres still problems , but do they need comparing to previous administrations , do the weve lost in play off finals before need throwing in his face every time we draw , was clough responsible for us being relegated ,,,, err no

Lets see how it pans out , yes we as fans are impatient its been 4 years for us , its only been one for nigel and the first 6 months were stopping the ship hitting the rocks

the mans got a 55% win ratio in his first year and that with the crap he inherited he deserves a fucking medal

He deserves a centre forward.

It's a lot more rosier than Coventry and Pompey and at the Sty

We could be playing at Crystal Peaks car park against Beighton Magpies and that would still be true BUT we deserve better.
We could talk all night about what we deserve and don't but short term I'm looking for a result against County and a few pints before and after the match

I agree. That view is unassailable but it's still very early days in football terms. We are a work in progress, but progress there is. NC needs time. He doesn't need people (not you, mate) visiting all the sins of previous wank managers and executives on his head.

On the broader point. I see a United fulfilling its potential as existing relatively comfortably within the top flight. The likes of Soton, WBA, Stoke, Palace, QPR, Leicester and others will pale into insignificance if and when (and I believe it's when) this club finally takes off.

How will they pale into insignificance?

Thank you for at least giving a reply. For your information and for the umpteenth time I will be ecstatic if we get promoted. I don't give a shit about who is in charge or how. What you don't seem to get but I do is we both want the same thing, we just view it differently.

You go on about how you have spent time making me see the light as if I am some personal project for you. Just respect and disagree with my point like I do yours. The day you tell me I am wrong is the day we are mid table Championship or better and paying good rates for good players to take us forward. Personally I hope that is this time next season.

How can we be a work in progress ?
Last season we were a good side our 3 best players went and now we are above average we are going backwards

You "don't give a shit who is in charge now" so I'm afraid I can't "respect your point" because the whole point I am trying to get across to you is to give the new board and owner, together with their chosen manager, time to succeed or fail. In the meantime don't spoil quality threads about today's issues by dragging up historic events. We all agree and regret that KM made big mistakes in the past but now funding and direction is not his sole responsibility. I think the club will pass fully to the new owner before long, in fact I'm almost certain.

You are not wrong about the past, nor am I saying we are definitely going to succeed. You misunderstand a lot of what I have been saying to you, I just think the past is not relevant to the here and now and spoils debate about the here and now.

The key to our future success is "who is in charge now" - how good they are, how much they invest, which managers they choose, and so on. In this context it's the current performance of our manager that matters to me. I think the new owner and board are fulfilling their part up to now and the manager has done well overall since he arrived. However we are not racing certainties to go up this season and stay up. Let's see how it all pans out and then make our minds up where we stand. Whatever, it's nothing to do with Warnock and Beattie any more.

You are articulate and passionate about those days gone by, trouble is it's history and because we have new owners, largely irrelevant. Always good to whip up a bout of anti-board posts but irrelevant. Live for the here and now. If the new guys are half hearted or lack judgement, that's what we need to worry about.

You start by questioning whether some posters are pig fans, presumably because you don't like your perceived negativity in their posts. Then here you want to shut down the debate about where the negativity comes from.

As the playground saying goes, "you started it"

:)

I think I know what you mean but not intended I assure you. All I wish is for is that quality threads develop, whether negative or positive, and are not always sidetracked into the historic failings of a previous era under a different board. Some posters are "one trick ponies" and their minds haven't even registered that a new era began last season. If they want to continue chatting about those old days then open a thread and get on with it, but don't introduce it as a matter of course on every thread every hand and turn. Good debates are often taken off on tangents and lose their way.

The new owner should be judged on his contribution to the club, and I expect it to be massive over the fullness of time. If it isn't then it won't be enough, we have a long, long way to go.

Good post, but you make a main point about a new era, and present it as fact.

I'd accept it in body, but the spirit bit is up for debate. Strip away the promises and to some it looks like we've sold out best player and after a fruitful season, pocketed the cash. The £8m investment figure actually makes me question more, not less.

I'm sure this comes across as negative but I assure you I'm not seeking to be. If we were plotless and they came out and said so, I'd be 100 percent behind everyone.

I've had quite a few squabbles with people demanding investment who can't be arsed to get off their seat and inject any cash over the turnstile. We have no right to absorb other people's money. It's the gap between rhetoric and reality that fucks me off.

The people you wish to remind that"this is a quality forum" have been here a lot longer than you.You may care to remember than when instructing them how you think they should respond to your posts.

You say this again and again.

I see the previous chairman is now the co-chairman.

I see our best player sold in the summer, an act that the previous chairman, now co-chairman, was notorious for.

I see the hand of the previous chairman in the Ched Evans saga.

The new boss is the same as the old boss from where I'm sitting. It may not be a fact, but it's certainly arguable. And whilst McCabe is involved his previous behaviour is very relevant to any discussions about strategy.
