Worst Sheffield United manager I've ever seen

Of course this is true- the bloke is 100% decent, but he's also 100% the wrong choice. You could not set us up worse if you tried. He points to only a 1-0 loss but Jesus without Tangy this is 4-0 all day long, we were thrashed.

Forget all the visionary crap - we need a manager that is an experienced Champ manager. Today we looked inept, against Millwall , Swansea and Bristol City inept.

Change quick and we can easily finish mid table, your right fans are brutal in this situation, pull him out quick for his sake, the teams sake and most of all US.
We can also thank the ref for not sending off Peck

Selles never had any track record to speak of. It was an absolutely baffling appointment at the time and even more so now.

He had been a firefighter with various clubs - Southampton, Reading and Hull - and basically did OK with all of them. Certainly nothing eye-catching. Nothing to merit taking charge of one of the strongest squads in the Championship.

But I think crucially, he never had any kind of expectation at any of his previous clubs. He certainly wasn't expected to win every week, like he is with United in the Championship. He's not a winner. He's just a firefighter.

I will judge him when the players who have just arrived and who played well today have settled in and can make an impact.
If then the team is no better and remains abject then he is clearly poor.
To judge him now when the quality players have only just been available to him is unbalanced.
I see your point but the squad available to him is not as bad as performances or results would suggest. Other than Boro we haven't played any 'big hitters', we should not be bottom on 0 points with a -6 goal difference.

He is hanging on and results need to improve quickly.

Stick with Selles and reap the rewards of the grandest failure of a manager and team in its entire history. And the after effects will stink out this club for years,in Lge1.

If those players aren't available then change the way you play. Adapt. Don't just keep brainlessly playing the same way with 4 or 5 players out of position every week. That's the perfect sign of a poor manager.

Can we stop calling for fucking Wilder back please? He's gone. It didn't work. He can't work with these owners. Move on. We just need a better manager. One who is prepared to play the best way to suit his players. Jesus. A child can see we need a better midfield. He could have played Peck and Godfrey in a 2 if he didn't want to play Soumare (for whatever reason).
But Wilder is the best manager most Blades have ever seen??

Just watching the Palace Villa match, this Palace set up looks perfect for the players we have. 3-4-3, their 2 wingbacks have license to get forwards, the front 3 is spearheaded by Mateta with Kamada and Sarr supporting as 2x number 10s.

Sadly, I agree.

I can't think of anything he's getting right and the results show it.

The Board haven't helped him with slow recruitment, but what we're seeing on the pitch is awful.

Seeing him playing around with laptops and notepads on the sidelines... it just

As we haven’t seen him with a full squad we how could we possibly know ?
Brought in 9 over the summer with a few top Bulgarians in there

Debateable, but he's definitely in the top 3 most will have seen.

Doesn't mean we or he should go back though.
He's only one of two managers to get a top 10 finish in the top division in the last 50 years. Bassett is the other.

That period covers 24 managers. You'd struggle to go beyond those two for that time.

In fact only 3 other managers post war have managed that : Davison (47), Harris (62, 63, 66, 67, 72) and Furphy (75).

So Wilder is definitely in an elite group.
