Worst performance of the season

Thought we played better in our 4-1 defeat at Walsall last season. Utterly lost for words, what happened to that Wilder team who don’t know when they’re beaten ?

Don't know if anyone's noticed or if we're all in denial but we've gradually been heading towards this performance over the last month or so. Pissing me right off - no surprise were struggling to score the way we're playing at the mo. Leonard and Evans starting together don't work. A bit depressing after the levels we've set this season. UTB.

No, but out of the remaining games that was, on paper one of the easier ones. Save for awful decision making by Hull, it could've been 3 and they are not even a reasonable side.

Again, as in the 2nd half against QPR, when we lose our shape, we lose it good & proper, it's if we're playing with 10 men. The defence, midfield & attack were operating as three separate units tonight.

Whatever malady has befallen us needs to be shifted quickly otherwise Fulham and Brentford will make very short work of us. Whether it's mental & physical tiredness or something else, that was both unacceptable as a performance & deeply worrying.

So despite being 2 points off the playoffs we shouldn’t bother with the rest of the season?

Yeah, that's about as poor as we've been...what makes it worse,Hull weren't much better...we couldn't keep hold of the ball, sloppy,o many balls hot aimlessly long.. Oh well...need a performance and result at Reading..

Did the Hull fans bring Kryptonite into the ground? Some of our lot looked like they'd never kicked a fuckin ball before.

I can accept a bad performance but we were swanning about like it was a pre season friendly. For the first time we looked like a side who didn't give a shit

Maybe they thought fuck it we have done enough to stay up. So lets just have a kick about for now til the end of the season.

What was so bad about the selection ?
No player to link midfield and attack. Dropping Duffy is one thing, not putting in someone who at least offers some of the same qualities was a poor decision and clearly wasn't working after 20 minutes or so.

The first two subs should have been made at half time as Evans and Leonard couldn't even pass to their own team (not that Duffy or Lundstram ended up being much better). Donaldson for Basham nullified Baldock who was our only remote attacking threat.

Worst performance of the season definitely. Wrong team selection, why duffy keeps getting dropped is beyond me!! Second to every ball, strikers were absolutely terrible. Sharp, as much as he's been brilliant for us and i love him, showed his limitations massively tonight. Frustrates me how much time he spends moaning and whining about anything and everything to the ref etc. Thought he was second best throughout the game and should've been subbed. Very poor performance but absolutely can be forgiven after a great season. Poor nights happen, lets just hope they're given a bollocking and move on for the next game. Credit to Hull, they're fighting for their lives and wanted it more. Just frustrating as expectations rise and had a chance to go sixth. At least we're not Wendy eh????

I thought on paper we had strengthen in the January transfer window, but pre Christmas we were a far better team. (Mind you couttsy and brooks absences haven’t helped).
That said tonight was awful. Effort, technique, tactics and shape all wrong. Could not see us scoring.
Why didn’t Adkins ever get us up for a game like that?

Hopefully, this result and performance will give them the rocket up the arse they’ve needed and we can kick on from here

Wilder to blame tonight, changed the team, the shape, and dropped our best player AGAIN.

As I said in another thread he has signed too many midfield players in Jan and now feels he has to give them games, and its costing us.

Not to jump on a newbie. But Leonard was atrocious. Looked so far off the pace and maybe a little out of his depth too. Hope he comes good as I have high expectations of him but that was awful

WHERE WAS BROOKS ,Where was Holmes
Where was the midfield
Where was the spirit

The worrying thing for me (along with the performance) was that there was absolutey no passion or desire to change how things were going.

The fact we've got a few teams in the relegation fight over the next couple of games has become more concerning as they'll be battling for their lives and if we turn up like that again we'll get turned over again.

That actually brought back horrible memories of that infamous Port Vale home game in the late 90s :(

Great interview from Wilder even if he has to take some blame tonight

Leonard struggled in the slot tonight. Duffy has made that place his own and should be 1st pick, but you would have to say Brooks and Holmes would be in before Lenny after that. Are they back soon?

Hull were just slightly less crap.

Trying to shoehorn Leonard into the team at the expense of our only fit creative player.
With a squad you have to be able to rest players against teams like Hull if you want top 6. They are dire. Our squad isn’t strong enough and that’s that in my opinion.

Who offers the same as Duffy who was available ?

I get what your saying but if we can’t utilise a squad to beat Hull, we ain’t in the top 6.
