Worst decision in recent SUFC history?

2 of those before my time and the Warnock sacking whilst not great it was probably time and that was around his level it was the decisions that came after that screwed us. This feels like wilders level is higher than that champ (I could be wrong) but that’s how it feels.

Probably shagging my ex wife in the Copthrone Hotel the night before Barnet at home. The room cost a fortune.

2nd worst was going to Barnet at home the next day.

But given the mist of time, and the rawness of today, I've gone for sacking Wilder.

What's even more depressing is that we've got some (not many) fans that campaigned for, and support it.

Deane to Leeds was arguably worse, as we were the very definition of a one man team.

But given the mist of time, and the rawness of today I've gone for sacking Wilder.

What's even more depressing is that we've got some (not many) fans that campaigned for, and support it.

It’s so close for me, Deano & Jan was a hammer blow, but you sensed the wheels were coming off a bit behind the scenes anyway and Gareth Taylor looked very strong in the weeks before.

Deano to Leeds was a killer as at that time he was a genuine force in the Premier League who other opposition teams just couldn’t handle. Always fancied him to bag a goal.

But this decision is a stinker and it smells like CW has been the elastoplast over the usual SUFC shitshow behind the scenes. Those who have seen it all before fear we know how it will play out.

That said, he gave me some of the best times I've had as a Blade, is clearly a good manager, and I'm not sure we're going to get someone better.

Losing a Championship promotion specialist was madness. To be fair, McCabe threw some major money at Robson but it was the wrong appointment.

It' a bit of a myth that we were guaranteed promotion by holding on to him and Fjortoft - our form was dipping before they'd left, though it undoubtedly wasn't a positive move!

I was gutted when Deane left, it doomed us to relegation, but if what you heard was true - and I think it was - we needed the money to keep the lights on.

I think the double hit was the bad thing.

I remember the conversation with my Dad:-

“We’ve sold Deane”
“What!?”
“Gone to Benfica”
“Can’t believe it”

Just after Deano was sold Revolution sr and I watched the season highlights video. He scored or was involved in the vast majority of our goals. We turned to each other and agreed we were down. Of course, Bassett had already told Brealey that.

Exactly ..... SUFC invented the concept of "dry fu**ing yourself" for everyone else to laugh at

If this happens and we also go on to sell of the best players / prospects cheaply, then it will be evidence that, as a Club, we have learned NOTHING from the previous 50 years of mis-management ......

Brealey was tight fisted and desperate to sell us from about 1982 onwards, but I don't think he was incompetent. Woolhouse was a crook, plain and simple.
