I think the double hit was the bad thing.

I remember the conversation with my Dad:-

“We’ve sold Deane”
“What!?”
“Gone to Benfica”
“Can’t believe it”
(long pause)
“At least we’ve got Fjortoft”
“They’ve sold him too”
(audible sigh)
“They always let you down son”

Both players wanted to go.

Here's an example;

I explained that I'd brought my brother in law to a match, who was appalled that his feet were drowning in piss when he went for a tiddle. He wouldn't come again. I wondered how many others were the same, and said how small things could improve match day experiences. I suggested that for a few hundred quid, a corrugated roof would solve that particular problem.

Dooley explained that there was a picture on a wall somewhere, of a redeveloped Bramall Lane. At some point in future, that might come to fruition. And if it did, the club would have wasted that few hundred quid on that corrugated roof.

You can imagine how the rest of it went.

i can take bottom of the league, i can take losing most weeks, even relegation. what i cant take is incompetence of losing the only reason we are in PL

Warnock wasn't sacked.

It’s for that reason that I can’t yet vote for Wilder because I’m not sure whether the entirety of the decision lies with the board.

My honest opinion is that I think the board would like to keep him around with compromise, whether that in itself is a bad decision is another debate.

I suppose we may know more after the press conference but I imagine it will go along the mutual consent line, in which case I think it’s a tough one to blame totally on the board if Wilder feels like his time here is up.

People will say we should have backed him more but I honestly don’t see how the Prince could without putting the club at risk financially, something Wilder was always dead set against himself. The Prince I think has certainly backed CW more than McCabe would have.
