A top place finish in the Prem is unlikely. A great spell would see us there for many a year, but with lots more losses than we see now. There'd be some big defeats and games where we are outclassed.

We'll worry about that if we get there. With the current squad we'd be down by Christmas, luckily we won't have the current squad as a lot of them are out of contract.

The journey is definitely better than the destination but saying that drawing 3-3 man utd was a brilliant day. Mates who are forest are still riding high after there draw with city which they got battered in. I can take losing more than winning in prem.

For me it’s about expectation levels, and how realistic they are.

We’re doing well this season with a nice buffer, so the losses make us more nervy, especially against teams you’d expect to beat (probably Millwall of those two recently), when in reality anyone can beat anyone in this league.

The expectation level in the Prem won’t be that we’ll be winning every game, more about survival until stability can be achieved.

I don’t remember any criticism of the team during the season we were demoted, so I am sure everyone on here will be calm throughout until we win our first game on Boxing Day !!

Financially staying in the Championship isn't really an option so I'd take humiliation on the pitch for a few £'s off it, the other option is the sale of a lot of players in the summer and replacing them with worse players. We all know where that gets you.

True, but if we utilise the money and opportunities wisely we can put together a squad capable of going back up and surviving.

I'd take losing the majority of games in the prem just for the (very slim) chance of finishing 17th and then reevaluating from there for the season after.

It's a strangely worded OP in my opinion, I don't think I have ever worried or thought about what other people thing about The Blades. It seems to be forgotten these days but a supporter of a football team, which I class myself as, supports their team through thick & thin & doesn't cry like a baby after any poor result or performance. I want my team to be as high up the league structure as possible, people saying things like "we are not ready to go up" are not true supporters.
We have always been a unfashionable club, & I like that, I want us to fight for every victory or point we can get, & I will not chuck my dummy out if we go through a bad spell or even get relegated, disappointing as that may be. I have typed the word supporter lots in this post, but it seems to me that this forum is full of doom & gloom merchants & not true supporters of Sheffield United FC.

Isn't Marvin Johnson one of their key players? Yeah, I don't think the Championship will be quaking in their boots.

Going up is far better than staying in the Chumpionship. I dont think I could go another year trying to avoid the play offs.
