A dig, and a serious point.
When we get promoted, this season hopefully, or if not another, how will large chunks of the fan base cope with losing lots more matches than now?
A top place finish in the Prem is unlikely. A great spell would see us there for many a year, but with lots more losses than we see now. There'd be some big defeats and games where we are outclassed.
Can people cope with it?

The journey is definitely better than the destination but saying that drawing 3-3 man utd was a brilliant day. Mates who are forest are still riding high after there draw with city which they got battered in. I can take losing more than winning in prem.

It's a thread about what people want from their football.

For me it’s about expectation levels, and how realistic they are.

We’re doing well this season with a nice buffer, so the losses make us more nervy, especially against teams you’d expect to beat (probably Millwall of those two recently), when in reality anyone can beat anyone in this league.

The expectation level in the Prem won’t be that we’ll be winning every game, more about survival until stability can be achieved.

If we do go up, barring some kind of major change, I'd expect to be getting relegated. Realistically, the club is a long way off being in a position to stay up. That's just realism.

I don’t remember any criticism of the team during the season we were demoted, so I am sure everyone on here will be calm throughout until we win our first game on Boxing Day !!

True, but if we utilise the money and opportunities wisely we can put together a squad capable of going back up and surviving.

A more pertinent question might be how will we cope with dropping into the play offs and losing in the semi final to Millwall or Luton.
Add Watford and/or WBA, Norwich or Sunderland to the mix as well, it doesn't look good?

Are you new to the exploits of SUFC?

Two games against Pigs with a good chance of winning......or two games against Man City with zero chance of winning..............Mmmmmmm thinking.
Not be the same team mate against the pigs, the so called better players will go and to be replaced by loans freebies and asbeens!!

It's a strangely worded OP in my opinion, I don't think I have ever worried or thought about what other people thing about The Blades. It seems to be forgotten these days but a supporter of a football team, which I class myself as, supports their team through thick & thin & doesn't cry like a baby after any poor result or performance. I want my team to be as high up the league structure as possible, people saying things like "we are not ready to go up" are not true supporters.
We have always been a unfashionable club, & I like that, I want us to fight for every victory or point we can get, & I will not chuck my dummy out if we go through a bad spell or even get relegated, disappointing as that may be. I have typed the word supporter lots in this post, but it seems to me that this forum is full of doom & gloom merchants & not true supporters of Sheffield United FC.

Current state of the club suggests the choice next season is either 20th in the PL or 15th ish in the Champo.

One will be borne with stoicism, the other doesn't bear thinking about.

I agree, we're unlikely to finish top of the Prem.

Worse to come: we'll be Sheffield's number 2 next season and lose to Wednesday at least once

Unpopular opinions thread?
Isn't Marvin Johnson one of their key players? Yeah, I don't think the Championship will be quaking in their boots.

Going up is far better than staying in the Chumpionship. I dont think I could go another year trying to avoid the play offs.

IF we do go up, is there any records to achieve ?
Fewest points in a season
Least goals scored
Most goals conceded etc etc 🤔
