Based on what they’ve seen this season Wigan fans will tell you
On his day he’s the best midfielder in league 1.

Apparently he’s been very impressive this season in league 1 but was too inconsistent in the Championship when he was younger.

Few negative comments. Hope he isn't compared to Hammond after one game.

Cheers Roy, surprised with the few negative views at the end from Wigan fans but maybe their just bitter because they're from Wigan, which is understandable.

I wonder if Evans is going to fight it out with Fleck and Lundstram for the center mid role and Leonard will be fighting it out with Bash and Baldock for the right sided defensive roles. Either way, we've got depth now that we didn't have before this window and we look much stronger for it.

Would LOVE to see wolves implode. Knobs.

Ohh and thanks roy!!

They see themselves as the big fish in this league and over the years they've always being big spenders and usually achieved no more than failed play off bids - sounds familiar! Difference is they're always the biggest spenders and we've never being that and yet over the last 25 years we've being in the same league as them for most of it.

I don't mind Wolves fans though, they do back the team in numbers and much prefer them to West Brom - Megson's second club and crap support these days.

I doubt they'll implode this term (but you never know?) but should they achieve promotion this year then next season is their trial by ownership. Can they compete for the type of player currently being snapped up by both Manchester clubs and Chelsea. It will be far harder than being a big fish in the Championship, so let's see how their current dominance cuts it in the Premiership. I suspect they may end up in the mid to top half of the Premiership, and if so that'll be an achievement.

Sounds like a good candidate to come here and improve.

Let’s not judge after 45 minutes and see how he gets on. He’s not a nailed on started but a classy midfielder with good delivery sounds ideal to me.

Right age too.

You can put the 750k towards Neymar maybe

Amazing isn't it.

In their own minds they have already won the Championship this year, the Premier next year and they are discussing what their team might be to face Barca in the 2020 Chumpions League Final.

Man City didn't go all Billy Big Bollocks as soon as they started splashing the cash, but these deluded Black Country peeasants really do think they have made it.

A South Barnsley town twinning could be in the offing

Of course they'll compete. Fosun are worth billions, not only that, but Jorge Mendes is an employee. He will determine where his plethora of clients go and as you've seen with the Porto players, he'll have them at Wolves over some of the more established larger clubs.

Agents run football....and Mendes is Don Corleone!

"Must be weird being a Wolves fan now. They've had no preparation time for acting like self entitled wankers and you can see some of them are struggling with it."

au cointreau, Ghandi was ironically referring to Wolves as the massive, long before it was more generally used to describe the ego of the average Wednesdayite.

Time will tell. It's not difficult to imagine Wolves doing their best to attract the better players, but given the current financial landscape that exists in European football we're talking of spending in the hundreds of millions rather than the tens, at least that's what I assume you're inferring. If they can compete at that level good luck to 'em, but let's see before reaching definitive conclusions.

Agents might hold power in football, but they also need to keep more than one club happy.

Mendes has a vested interest in his clients only, not the clubs.

The only club he has an interest in is Wolves.... The 34m bid for Silva is also quite a statement.

Wolves fan here again. Honest opinion, he's a sensible buy as he will strengthen your squad and give you more options in midfield. I have seen him around 20 times for us, usually in a deep centre midfield position in front of the back four. He is comfortable on the ball and likes to spray 50 yard passes around. He looks good on his day and can put in a good tackle as well. On the downside, I don't think he has much pace and tends to play sideways rather than forwards, hence doesn't really present much of a goal threat apart from very long range. We were rubbish for the last two seasons and he was nowhere near our team, however those loan spells will have helped him mature as a player and he should be able to kick on now if he gets regular game time. He's a solid pro and good luck to him.

“Decent player but a bit inconsistent, can either ping some great passes all game or every single pass hit an advertising hoarding, free kicks again are either brilliant or woeful and he can’t take corners. 750k not worth it. If he was consistently good like Morsy then maybe more so. “

Should slot straight in then!!
