I'm a big fan of Robinson as you know but that was poor

Why is why is Robinson so prone to these sorts of errors? He is so bloody one footed and susceptible to mistakes like that. That's one of several i remember and one of the reasons that I dream seeing his name on the teamsheet.

How old is young Gordon? 18? 19?... 5 minutes since, he darts out into a full back position and wins the header to put it out for a corner. Very basic, common sense football.... if in doubt, put it in row Z. Don't try and flick it across your own defensive line towards goal.

Makes me mad because in glimpse he can be solid. That full blooded tackle he made a short while ago, no nonsense... that would do for me Jack....get stuck in and put the ball safe. Stop the silly decision making. He's so susceptible to mistakes or giving away set pieces / penalties it's unreal.

Didzy loves to get help us concentrate on the league some absolutely abject finishing in the cup doesn't he?

Remember that woeful header at Arsenal before Norwood slid one into his own net?

Robinson summed up in that 2 min spell. Thundering reight tackle on Traore followed by an absolutely woeful attempted pass inside.

The fans on this forum will remember the latter though…
Tackles don't win games but fuck ups like that cost you games that's why fans remember stuff like that. He's a terrible footballer

Sign of someone who thinks they are better than they are, to the detriment of their teammates.

And he's nearly repeated it but luckily Adama is nearly as bad as Burke at finishing.

Exactly this. That tackle is the absolute minimum I expect from a defender, to be solid, deal with danger, keep shape and cover for team mates. He makes far too many mistakes in dangerous areas for one tackle to outweigh his general ineptness.

So why is Hecky playing him ?
Because half of the team are out injured or with covid I suppose...and he doesn't want to change the system.

I'd rather drag him off, tuck Norrington Davies in for four at the back. Drop Berge deeper into a CDM role to cover the defenders in the gap and then bring Freeman / Ndiaye on.

Due to the latter out scoring the former

Of course Robinson is no good, surely we all know that? He's a L1 defender at best, asked to play at a level he's not capable of performing at.

The fault is not his - this is way above his standard - the fault is the people who keep selecting him, and above all which foolhardy, incompetent prick(s) thought he could ever do a job for us in the Premier League?

That's where the blame lies.

I agree with that, but a lot of his errors, including today’s, are mental ones. He constantly makes bad decisions, and needs to keep it simple.
