The 4 pieces of business that I would like to see if I could have my way (barring sizeable investment of course… so there’s no Neymar in this list haha)

Berge (retained)
Rothwell
Swift
Clarke-Slater
Davies (contract renewed)

I appreciate that holding onto Berge will be difficult and that other clubs could possibly offer better deals or circumstances to the free’s.
But… I don’t think it’s beyond us. And should we pull this off you’d have to fancy us strongly next season. UTB ⚔️

If we were to do the business you suggest I’d be very confident we’d piss the league but as you point out it will be very difficult there will be intense competition for the three potential incoming and holding onto Berge would be a Herculean feat.

Very much doubt we'll get Rothwell now we're staying down as heavy interest from Bournemouth was reported recently. Swift I can't see either as I've said a few times but you never know. Khadra, I could see that on loan if Brighton let him go out, he had injury issues though at the end of the season.

I think we're more likely to sign frees released from other Championship clubs because they weren't wanted rather than the player chose to go! Players like Will Vaulks as I've mentioned earlier to come as back-up for our existing midfield. I can't see many if anyone coming in on a free that ousts someone already in the team as I think we'll struggle to get quality on a free better than what is already herel because as I say I don't think we'll attract the better frees who may want a PL club. It the likes of Swift have got to the end of June/early July still without a club then they may have to lower expectations a little, so we could come to the party then maybe. So every week that the likes of Swift are not signed I think is good news. I would guess that the better players we'll get will be on loan and as ever near the end of the windows, the squad fillers will come first; usually the way unless we're in the PL when we can chose who we want a lot more.

Some of our more uninspiring signings though have turned out to be the gems, but you don't know it at the time! Don't recall many fans were over the moon when Wayne Allison was signed, Bob Booker, David McGoldrick and Wes Foderingham, even Stuart McCall many were saying can he still walk!? We seem to often do better with those than when we've broke the bank!

Without a takeover we will see a steady downgrading of players in key positions.

For one, expect Berge & MGW to depart and not be properly replaced. That alone turns us into a mid-table team.
Well let’s wait and see. I’ve enough doom in my life already without predicting the worst case scenario haha

We didn't have Berge and MGW when we finished second in the league, securing promotion (and could have potentially gone top of the league, if we had won the final game at Stoke)

If only we’d gone in for seriki dembele in january. Can only see him being wasted at bournemouth now. Think he would have been an excellent forward option

Flint or Morrison from Cardiff would be sound additions

Could we get Jed Wallace?

What about some of the Bmouth guys who'll be surplus?

Is Lewis-Potter completely out as an option? We've helped Hull over the years with freebies..... Maybe they owe us a slight discount for his services ;)

Wish list. Current squad & resign MGW on loan. Few free transfers & we’re up. It’s a wish list not reality 😂

There’s talk of Berge being offered an improved deal to stay.
Would be a good start to business. Signals intent! 👍⚔️

I’m convinced we will sign Kieffer Moore on loan at some point next season. Either on deadline day of the summer transfer window or in January when he’s barely played.

Hecky signed him for Barnsley in January 2018 before he left to manage Leeds the month after.

Surely the only way that is true is if the £35M release clause has been reduced significantly meaning we’re just as likely to lose him as retain him?

It’s said that it’ll be an increase in wage and a non-promotion clause.
This might sound worrying… but if the club is gonna do that I view it as a massive ‘we’re not messing about’ next season statement.

Can only think it would be a case of offer him whatever it takes to get him on a contract length that reduces the risk of losing him for next to nothing

His value is one the club won't be willing to give up on, unlike McB

Now that would be a good sign if Berge signs a new deal. We need to make signings that will improve our team midfield for example we shouldn't be signing players as "back up" we need players what are better than what we've got

Josh Onomah and Joe Bryan two squad players for Fulham this season who may well see their role reduced further now they’re promoted. Could be options on loan.

Would not surprise me at all, I can see him coming in as back up to Egan. He'd do well in the air at least! Scores the odd goal too at set pieces!

And it would shithouse the pigs (wasn't he there for a bit?)

He was on loan but didn't play much, bit like McGoldrick who played 4 games for Wednesday. Flint was there for longer though but injured a lot.
