In fact, if you think south London has no posh areas, you don't know it very well. It's not all Elephant and Castle/Haygate Estate these days. (In fact even round that area there's massive regeneration). Places like East Dulwich and Wandsworth Common are well beyond the affordability of most ordinary people. (As is most of London tbf).

Will be heading to the match from Chertsey . Chelsea are going to pump money into Chertsey Town FC due to Chelsea Ladies FC . Funny old game . Next thing the club will be having youngsters loaned from Chelsea and finnish up in the conference .

Yes, they've 'cleansed' the area by flattening the big council blocks and building private dwellings. The social housing provision was woefully inadequate.

Been to Balham, Tooting & Brixton a while ago! Not fussed on any of em TBH.
Except Brixton perhaps - good night out at the Carling Academy (as was) & was impressed by how many boozers were open into small hours, place was bouncing.
Absolute shit hole in some of the surrounding areas tho.....

Yeah, modern ones do because Lager is so fizzy but back in the day they were often a pint when filled to the top. As far as I can recall.
