Will we sell out?

I don't think it's unrealistic to assume some people may be waiting till Friday, which will be pay-day for most in full-time monthly employment to buy a ticket, whether they'll still be available to buy for blades fans at that point is a different thing.

To your last paragraph:

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Level 2:
This is the main area where you'll find the padded seats, often part of the "Club Wembley" or "Level 2 Premium" packages. These seats offer a more comfortable experience, including extra legroom and potentially drinks holders.

For dem supporters wi piles.

If that happens some ST holders won't even get one ticket.
In theory, if every season ticket holder bought two tickets, then yes. But given that now anyone with 200 loyalty points can buy two tickets and we still haven't sold out, it seems like realistically that wouldn't be the case.

In fact, some season ticket holders aren't attending at all and many would just buy one each.

Having said that, I'm not that fussed about whether season ticket holders can buy one or two and would be happy either way if the rest of the changes were implemented!

Maybe they’re too busy dealing with folk who booked seats and now want to move, so they can’t send anything out until the last minute.
Yeah. Always wondered why people did that, but with em selling tickets from north to south, I guess people panic buy just to secure a seat…Then move when others become available…With Sunderland selling out so quickly, I wonder if they had so many purchasing restrictions.

But they didn’t. They sold out because ticket master fucked up and then there were loads of resales. They were all cancelled and put back on sale.
The releasing of blocks isn’t new and they did exactly the same for Man City where better seats were release later.

For all the criticisms on here and online our ticket management and ticket office have been first rate.
All the grumbles seem to be things outside our control.

It's probably not healthy, but like most of us on here I feel a sense of pride and investment in how Sheffield United perform on and off the pitch. Wisely or not, the Blades are a big part of my identity.

It annoys me that there will unnecessarily be empty seats at the game on Saturday, or that we will give some of our allocation to Sunderland, just like it annoyed me when there were empty seats against Leeds, Bristol City and Manchester City for completely avoidable reasons. It presents the club that we love in an unflattering light and doesn't give the players or the fans the atmosphere they deserve.

We would've easily sold out our allocation for this game (while ensuring loyalty is rewarded) if we'd been more sensible with the system for selling tickets.

Phase 1: season ticket holders can buy two tickets each

Phase 2: everyone with a purchase history (plus some loyalty points if we're really that paranoid about Sunderland fans with a Sheffield United purchase history getting tickets in our end) can buy two tickets each

Phase 3: general sale (or at least general sale to those with a purchase history/ a certain number of loyalty points if worried about Sunderland fans buying tickets)

Almost exactly the same system could also be applied to big home games.

Additionally: communicate the system clearly before sales start, don't tell people tickets can't be amended when they can, respect the fact that people are paying hundreds of pounds to attend the game and let them pick their seats rather than constantly messing around with which blocks are on sale.

I'm sure some clubs have big enough fan bases to sell out even with our crazy restrictions. But we are a medium sized club from a working class city a long way from London, with a terrible record at Wembley. We should be making it as easy as possible to attend rather than throwing up barriers. As it is, we sell fewer tickets for these games than clubs with smaller fan bases because we actively/ incompetently put people off attending. And it harms the fan experience while making us look bad.

It's a testament to the commitment of our fans that we've sold as many tickets as we have.
Spot on

Ok, didn’t know that about Sunlan

Every ST holder will know someone that would like to go who doesn't have the points/membership or not even a Blade, I've been asked by half a dozen people.
Those tickets would go and about 5 or 6 thousand ST holders wouldn't get a sniff. That's never reyt.

The problem is that if they allowed season ticket holders to buy two tickets each and we somehow sold out, the season ticket holders that missed out would go ape shit!

It really isn’t worth the risk for the ticket office to piss off season ticket holders in the hope of selling an extra 1k or 2k tickets.

Just got an email from the club almost begging me to buy a ticket. Then I see that there's a £2 booking fee. When I give a homeless tramp, sat outside Greggs, a couple of quid to get a pasty, I then don't expect him to come back at me for another 50p surcharge.
Could be worse Sunderland are paying more to print at home!

What impact does the’geography’ have?
It’s always been abundantly clear how (& why?) tickets were being sold in that fashion- or were some folk desperate not to sit on the South side?
Cursory perusal of sales (or one of legion threads on ‘ere) would give an accurate indication of sales progress, including the location of seats on sale - surely you only “panic” when theres next to no availability (not happened yet)

So, can anyone summarise, are there going to be random whole blocks of unsold Sheff United seats everywhere, covered in black netting, or is it just the odds and sods unsold singles dotted about the place?

Just received mine. But they’re for the initial seats l bought in block 124, before l swapped them for tickets in 523 and then changed to block 205 in case l’d missed owt!
Have you been mis-sold tickets, had your time wasted by your football club, spent hours waiting for a block to open that you didn't want to sit in anyway?

If the answer is yes, JJ Reclaim is here to get you the recompense you deserve.

We operate on a no win basis and only take 75% of the compensation you won't receive.

Dunno, ask the people swapping their seats.

At phase 5 does everybody stand up?
