Will we win the play-offs?

Like dropping a slice of toast, it can land either way but you just know the buttered side will stick to the carpet 9 times out of 10. :)

Er no chance for us btw

Didn't you say Bournemouth hadn't a chance in hell of promotion? :)

The only grain or crumb I can gain from this season's play-offs, is that when in past seasons we've been favs, when we've had a decentish side and been outragously unlucky with how things have panned out, we've then gone on to play at Wembley and not turned up!

This season, we have been dross to watch, not creating chances and failing to take the few that we do create. Other sides this season look stronger and have pace all over the pitch

Logic says we have no chance. However, the unpredicability of football might mean that this season and for no real reason, we'll go and f'kin romp it!

Like I say, it's the only thing I can cling on to

Btw, I have voted NO! :D

Like the rest of us I have no idea if we will be promoted. Recent form suggests not that's all. And clearly there are many issues at the club that need to be addressed etc etc.
I'm not excited this time, I wont be betting any money but I see no point whatsoever in talking down our chances however good or poor they may be. It is not rose tinted specs just logic - we might yet be promoted as we are still in the mix.

The odds are against us but is now 1 team out of 4, better than 3 out of 24 we started on back in August.

are there many cats in hell , why do they get demonised , my cats lovely only got 3 legs , he wouldnt harm a fly , a mouse , maybe

the penalty incident only really effects brentford in the semi.
if they get through that, theyll soon forget about it.
unless the final goes to penalties maybe!

i dont thing it makes any difference, i cant see any way we beat yeovil.
im amazed were favourites to qualify, if i was a tipster id be saying yeovil are an amazing price to go through.
saw 11/8 somewhere online, with us 4/7. has to be the worst 4/7 ive ever seen.
amazing how the rest of the world sees us!

Would actually prefer a few more seasons in L1 where we start to build a good footballing team based on a few astute signings and some of the young uns coming good !

If the young uns are good we sell them if a signing show potential we sell him. if he can score, pass, dribble, run, walk, head a ball, score from the spot, score from 30 yards, score from 20 yards, score from 10 yards, score from 5 yards, score from a header, even just score. We sell him as soon as we can make a profit from him sell him maybe McCabe has lost all the money we had on property deals. Maybe we are lucky that BDTBL has also lost value as property or he might sell that too. Yes I am P++++d off with this season and we have had some bad ones. I have seen some season were we have put up more of a fight in a relegation season than now everyone who comes here talks about how great the club is how honoured they are to play here. They put their boots on and the Blades shirt and play like a portable shit house on a building site. And finaly Yes I am an idiot and I will watch the games same proceedure as every year.

while were on that, i said donny had no chance of promotion and could even get relegated.

pearls of wisdom there from mr fried egg chili chutney sandwich face!

Even if we go up, we might still loose Maguire & Long to the Readings/Leicesters of the Championship.

Still at least we can sign some has been on his last legs as a replacement eh?

Their replacements are already at the club. Step forward Messrs Coyne and Higginbotham

Don't think it will be Leicester somehow!

Didn't YOU say Donny definitely wouldn't get promoted automatically?

Didn't you say Doncaster would be nowhere near at the end of the season :)

Yes and I dismissed Bournemouth as well. Hats off to davidpinder who called that one absolutely right and well in advance. Well done.

In addition I wrote off the Pigs chances last season.

I announce, therefore, with great confidence and considerable pleasure:

The Blades will not win the play-offs this season. We have absolutely no chance. It certainly will not happen.

Good man!

To be fair, you did call Tranmere's collapse earlier than most. I must admit I didn't see that coming, certainly not to that extent.

we should take the example of Bournemouth and apply it to ourselves in the play offs , they lost 5 on the spin but came back strong , its what we must do

Yes we'll go up! Will I bet my house on it? Hell no!!!

Where SUFC are concerned, hope is all we have right now. And so while we are still in it, we can win it. Who knows, the oppos could implode at any moment, leaving the way clear for our motley band of saleable youths, freeloading makeweights and utterly shit loanees to fumble their way to glory!

Now where's that so and so that said I talked shite that we couldn't defend? Perhaps I should stay away for 5 years, season tkt holder and shareholder that I am. Gutted for another season.

Indeed! It might be a blessing, though, if it consigns all this "intensity" "tempo" "gerritintbox" and "Upanatem" shite to the garbage bin where it belongs. In Bladespeak they are all euphemisms for Hoof. How many abject failures do we need before we realise what the rest of football realised decades ago?

I admire your wish to play the beautiful game Pinchers but you actaully need decent players to play that way. We just don't have any worth their salt. This can only come from youth in our position but as we all know as soon as any player shows any semblance of talent they get sold - I expect Di Girolomo to be sold in the next JTW after he plays half a dozen games after his ACL rehab.

WE ARE GOING TO BE THE NEW CREWE - Don't worry about that

The other way to get out of this is to kick your way out and invest when you have the money.
The problem with the reliance on youth is that we will always cash in too early.

Who now believes that selling Blackman in the JTWninstead of after the season ended (like Udders did with Rhodes - albeit that he was head and shoulders above what Blackman could ever be) was a prudent move?

Don't you think that many lesser clubs, today's opponents included, have out-footballed us this season? I've seen few, if any, get the better of us by ale house tactics.

Poor though our players are, are those at Yeovil, Swindon, Bournemouth etc. really any better? Or are they simply encouraged to play the game in a better way?

This 'muck and nettles' stuff seems to be in our DNA. A major blood transfusion is long overdue. We shall kick and rush our way into oblivion if we do not mend our ways immediately.

Aye, this season was a feast of football, with the inevitable success you describe. Or are you suggesting that it's been hoof this season?

No - I believe the difference is the type of player they have compared to ours - who are in general slow, ponderous, lacking in pace, and poor in speed of thought.

Kitson, Doyle, McDonald, Collins, Hill, Higgo, Porter, McMahon, and Flynn are all of this category.

You also have to bear in mind that we are shit in the loan market. Contrast that with Yeovil, Brentford and Swindon - they have all used decent players from the champ or Prem. Upson who scored the second goal is an Ipswich player, Swindon have a Spurs midfielder (Luango ? Burn at Yeovil is a Fulham player.
Ours have all been an unmittigated failure.

Long, Maguire (he is much better than some on here are giving credit to), Di Girolomo, and McFazdean all show some promise but they are the exception to the rule and we need a hell of a lot more to make an impression on this league.

We desperately need pace - but when we have it - or produce it - we all know what happens.
