Had it confirmed it's a touch over £10m upfront as a fee, in installments obviously

No idea how easy or hard to reach the £5m add ons are.

It's still a huge fee for a player that has played, never mind impressed, so little as he has at senior levels.

Newcastle obviously see something in him, but I'd be surprised if he's ready to play at top end Prem level for a season or two (or perhaps ever!)

Given the lack on offers forthcoming for Anel and Souza, and the takeover yet to complete, I don't think the club has a choice in deciding whether to deal in order to fund incomings.

Has raw pace but not much else….yet. Newcastle might feel they can train the rest into him.

Personally if I was them I’d have seen how he got on this season & probably loaned a more experienced back up to Isak.

I really hope it goes well for him though, financially it will be rewarding too. When I scores his first goal I await the meltdown on here of ‘we only got £10m for him’

this deal should get us the cooper/worrall deals over the line plus loans for gilchrist and millar in which case i think weve done well out of this one
I hope you're right AB but I'd be surprised if the (staggered) proceeds received from the sale of Osula will the cover fees (inc loan fees) and salaries of all those you mention.

but weve lost loads of players off the wage bill surely that shouldnt be an issue and the minimum were getting for osula in the first installment will be 3.3m minimum we would only need 2.5m to get cooper and worrall in on the other hand we could just go down the salary route and bring 3/4 good quality premier league loans in

I think we all need to be extremely grateful that our acadamy continues to produce young players that show the ability that attracts interest from Premiership clubs. We are just simply unable to get any real long term benefit ourselves and just need to accept that the funds that these young men generate keep our club afloat.
It hurts to see them leave, but while ever we have owners of our great club who are just unable to fund a top end football club we really have no other choice. To add insult to injury, the better players that we buy with the money we generate are also sold eventually and so we find it impossible to make any sustainable progress.
It is a sad state of affairs, however,i wouldn’t support any other club and look forward to the odd successful season when they come along.

Well said. I do honestly get those who are disappointed that Osula is leaving. But we also have to appreciate that our academy is consistently sourcing and developing multi-million pound prospects with, let’s be honest, hardly the greatest facilities and infrastructure.

I don’t know what the secret sauce is and I do hope one or two of the lads we produce stay with us and go on to have Dane Whitehouse-like careers and make a dent in the Prem (maybe Arblaster?). But I’d rather have our academy than most of the teams in this division and probably half of the ones in the league above. Something to be proud of and doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. It’s paid for itself many times over and it’s always great to see young lads come through - even if just for a season or two.

if it is 15m plus 5m in add ons that has to get us 2 signings in plus cash for 3 loans at least

I genuinely think he's worth 15mill +, and at that price its a good deal for us. I think he will make it at prem level within a couple of seasons. He has work to do but he’s so close to having lots of the attributes required to succeed at that level.

Hope he does well.

All the best Will 👍

Make sure that you smash the Pigs next season when they're on their way to the Champions League 🏆

😆😆😆

If the deal negotiated, be it 10 or 15 mill up front, lets hope some of it goes to Wilder. The truth is, we just had to accept this deal, to keep the club afloat, and give CW some dosh. I get he has potential, but right now, having a side to consolidate in the championship, at the very least, is more important.

yes agree wilder has used this tactic before i think selling osula get us at least 3 players for more important positions we need to cover
