It seems like every manager we've had since we've been down here has been sacked after losing a major team player at the start of the season.
Wilson - Evens.12/13 - Wier - McDonald.13/14 Clough - Maguire 14/15.

Do you think there is anyone left who could do it this season if they went ?

Its sometimes not who goes out , but who comes in to replace them , and in some cases nobody . Thats been the problem , season after season . Thats why we are were we are . The other option is not to sell them in the first place , or sort out a ready made replacement ( Evans )

And that ... is the secret to our lack of success in the past decade or so. Flog off the good ... Jagielka, McDonald et al ... bring in the shit.

Common denominator?

Yes, quite a few.

Contracts coming to an end, release clauses, players wanting to go, predatory agents.

None of those, of course, provide an opportunity to have a go at the club you support and its Chairman so I guess they don't appear on your agenda...

We've lost Brayford already. Will that do?

Who did we replace the worst? We got that kid from Bolton on loan to replace ched, we famously got NOBODY to replace Maguire(or did young Harrison come in after he went?) and I can't think off the top of my head who replaced macca. Mainly due to being in absolute heartbreak

We've sold him - you not checked today's news?

;) :p

So all of that excuses bringing in sub-optimal players to replace the ones sold?

Agenda? Moi?

No Pinchy there has been one common denominator in all this. The selling of good players from under Blackwell and Wilson followed by summary dismissals was the work of one man. Replacing Warnock with a potato who couldn't manage a wank. Stupid clubs abroad from which we benefitted not one bit. One man made those decisions.

Hopefully this is now behind us but lest we forget and all that.

I have an agenda. My agenda is not wanting to see us sell our best player in the close season, a strategy we have adopted frequently as we have slid down the divisions. Indeed, that's one of the reasons we've slid down the divisions and can't get back up.

Don't understand this post at all.

All our sales have been really "good business" haven't they? Sure I've read somewhere that they have been anyway. I better re-think . . . .

predatory agents.

Pesky is the word you're looking for.

I think Murphy could go to Brighton. Look at it from his perspective, why stay in this league when he is clearly at a much higher standard and plays teams off the park on his own. He wants to get the best out of his career and I wouldn't have any hard feelings towards him if he went.

Wasnt Butler Maguires replacement?

and just to pick at the OP ched didnt go at the start of the season and i think Weir was doomed with or without McDonald, maybe we'd of got a couple more games before his 1 game style got found out

The irony here of course, is that McCabe is the Bladey-est of all Blades.
