When I was a kid in Bassett era aged 13-14 me and mates used to go to watch reserves in central league, and it was free as we were season ticket holders, think it was £1 or 50p for none ST holders, now we have disbanded the reserves but we charge £15 plus to watch reserves in the EFL cup which incidentally hasn't been won by a team outside the top division since 1991 and we need no reminding who it was that lifted the trophy why do we still bother

I think EFL cup should be reformatted. CH-LG1-2 and Vanarama National League competition, PL clubs and most CH clubs don't want to know the EFL Cup, get rid of PL teams and more teams would take it seriously.

Isn't that basically the Johnston paint trophy with the championship? I don't think many take that seriously tbf.

That doesn't include Vanarama either. Its just League 1-2 clubs and a few U21's from Cat A sides.

Any clubs not in Europe would be better. You’d have more of a range of winners, I am sure. Would need some reformatting for the rounds, given the numbers.

Bin off the Johnstone Paint Trophy or whatever it is called, too.
