Agree really good interview. The manager respects his audiences by being open and informative as far as he can e.g. tactics, new signings, player comments. Interview some 8 minutes long.
Seemed very content with incoming transfer situation. Said it's a cut-throat situation when a successful team strengthens always at the expense of another in the group but that's how it is.
Gave great insight into the planning/tactics yesterday - told Coutts and Fleck to shift the ball quicker because Southend pack central midfield and it's congested. Told them to look out for second balls which Cox in particular picks up from high and plentiful crosses raining into the box. Paid Southend huge compliments and said he's pleased we don't have to visit them again this season. "If we can win here like that we can win anywhere". They recently smashed Bradford there.
Steamroller analagy used re yesterday's game and our league progress.
Really disappointed to concede their second goal, took a little shine off the performance.
Delighted with the application- "on and off the ball".
Well pleased with Carruthers albeit only 15 minutes. His injury was from a hard knock on his knee and will be assessed, fingers crossed.
Seemed well pleased with Lavery. Complimented Done's attitude and said he felt a fool asking him if he minded playing wing back because he knew he'd respond well, as ever.
Made a big point about the upcoming fixtures until early February being key, never mind the Scunthorpe, Bolton matches we hope to build a cushion and let those matches against top teams take care of themselves, these coming matches are just as important and we expect to be 'at it' for each one.
