I agree. Go back to what worked. Lundstram and Fleck together and if we need someone to break the lines, Freeman should come on to play the Duffy role.

You missed the best 10 mins from our point of view then.

I can remember thinking after the first 10 that we looked a lot better than the Villa game but the passing just needed sharpening up in the final third. Then the passing gradually got worse all across the pitch, which once Newcastle realised that, we didn’t stand a chance.

What Newcastle had which is pace to burn which we haven't got pace except in Mousset who is keeping the bench warm far too often. St Maximin was very good today but we have played pacey players before & either 2 manned them or given them a "welcome to the game" 15 minutes. When we're up against 3 forwards who can skin our defence we'll always struggle. This is not a crisis yet but Mr Wilder has to earn his corn now & come up with a striking combination that at least looks like it can score goals. The defence has been holding the side together. What really pulls my chain is it's now twice Steve Bruce , who has as much loyalty as a ferret, has mugged us. Incidentally I thought the midfield was lopsided again with most p[ay down the right & my favourite midfielder looking like he's been at the mogadon again. Not good enough as yet - can't see him starting against Man Utd.

I'm not going to blame Egan for not looking his normal self, he's not got his usual partner JOC there (they back each other incredibly well and how many times does JOC cover in behind Egan if someone goes past him?? Plenty, that's why they're so good).

Playing at the back's so much about trust and though I'm not attacking Robinson he's not inspiring too much confidence, Egan's a bit exposed.

I'd go (and I know he had a shocker) Stevens in the JOC role so we still have something going forward, Osborn in at LWB
