How can that Berlin derby have any real rivalry???

Hertha Berlin and Union Berlin have only EVER played each other 4 times in their entire histories.
Hertha have won 1, Union have won 1 and there’s been 2 draws.

Exactly. It's like arsenal playing leyton orient at the emirates in front of a full house, and people in germany looking at the crowd size, the fact that they are in the same city and calling it a big derby.

I'm not an expert on german football, but my understanding is that the big games are regional derbies.

I’m pretty certain there’s only 1 major (passionate) derby in Germany, that’s Borussia Dortmund versus Schalke.
Of course there’s Bayern v TSV Munich and Hamburg v St Pauli.
But they rarely play each other and one club is far bigger than the other.

''.....Chairman, manager, element of the fan base a complete set of c***s all consumed by their older, bigger, better brother. Despise the vile. classless stain of a club and comments like that turn any nerves or whatever into a feeling of just wanting to smash the f****s by any means! Why even mention us? Oh, see the aforementioned.''

enjoy the rest.....

Jos had two Koln v Gladbach in 2008, which is the ruhr derby. He was sacked after losing the 2nd. Not relevant to tomorrow, but just saying.

Well, yeah. Obviously the rhine derby. I mean, the rhine derby goes without saying, doesn't it? But apart from the rhine derby, the klassiker, the berlin derby, the ruhr derby, the hamburg derby, the munich derby, furth versus nurnberg and dresden versus leipzig, what big derbies does germany actually have? ;)

Thought you were going to finish off with "what have the Germans done for us" :)

Knowing a bit about Union Berlin, they do look forward to playing Hertha as there is some rivalry in the East v West Berlin thing. The big rivalry for union though is against Dynamo Berlin. They were run by the Stasi and hated by Union fans. Separated by some divisions they rarely play each other but in the past Union reserve matches against them have been tasty. Union no longer have a second team.

Cologne v Gladbach is massive and obv Dortmund v Schalke.

Kickers Offenbach despise Eintracht Frankfurt but rarely get to play them.

Braunschweig v Hannover is interesting and Dresden just about have a rivalry with everyone!

‘Why even mention us?’

Erm, because we’re playing you tomorrow? Why did Wilder mention Ipswich in last week’s interview? Weird innit...

Whats a classless scruber ?

Got a dig in about them being the out of town club and us being in the heart of the city as well :D
Edit: and one about the pre season training, difference in fitness and injuries. Done his press conference homework it seems.
