Obviously I don't know because it's the opinions of the managers, but that was the season Man City won the title with a record 100 points, ~20 clear of 2nd (so, similar to Liverpool this year).
Burnley had already been in the league for a few seasons at that point so weren't newly promoted as we are this year, and also don't play the most attractive brand of football.
Those would be my guesses as to why Dyche didn't win. For the record I'm not saying he didn't deserve it as I think it's a fair shout, just that the reasons above may explain why.
Don't forget pep was a very sexy manager aswell in so much as man city was going to be the new Barcelona .

Given the LMA award last season was a surprise for his team finishing second in the Championship last year, it’s entirely realistic to expect Wilder to get the accolade of his peer group again this year.
Klopp should quite rightly get the Premier league award this time around.
NES at Wolves has done remarkably well to finish so high in the PL and be competitive in Europa league at the same time. He deserves credit for that, especially as a foreign manager, but the LMA award is probably beyond him for that reason.
Dyche is better than any other Brit in the top level, except for Wilder.
There will be some sympathy for Rogers at Leicester, but having failed at Anfield, he’s an outsider.
For next year, Wilder has to overcome the poor form after international breaks, global pandemic and two drinks breaks in every game.

i mean liverpool have spent a lot, but credit where it is due, they have spent very wisely and efficiently, in terms of transfer profit/losses theyve spent around £150m across the 5 Klopp years (and most of that was the Allison/Keita/Fabinho window).
£30m a year outlay is not bad for a top 4 side who are now champions

Look at it this way, last season Liverpool won the champions league and achieved 97 points. Winning the league this season is expected. Man City never replaced their talisman in Kompany, instead preferring to use the aging Fernandinho as a centre half.
95% of pundits/media jockeys had sheffield united to finish ROCK BOTTOM.
Wilders achievement this season is far superior to Klopps based on expectations and for that, he deserves the award for me.

Controversial maybe, but our Chris really should take it this year. Yes, klopp has achieved massively, but to be honest the usual challengers haven't really been at it. Citys defence was shocking comparatively, Chelsea stepped back massively with the transfer ban and losing hazard. Man U while at the moment maybe on fire, early on they were well off. Crashing out of the champs league as well-considering where they were last year I'd go as far to suggest if Liverpool didn't win this year they'd have under achieved. Also add its manager of the year-Klopps done his miracle over 4 years or so.
Wilder on the other hand has taken a bunch of so called journeymen and cloggers who many said were league 1 standard not so long ago, with no real money by pl standards, a recently finished off field court case that easily had the potential to derail everything and not only thrived in the pl, but properly taken it to the supposed elite clubs. Add in admiration from some of the top managers for the style and I'd have to say wilder deserves it for me. Not that I'd throw a wobbler if klopp took it, but still...

Not controversial to us, but its the whole Liverpool regression thing. They were already awesome last year, but I don't honestly see a huge progression in them this year. Not that there was much higher for them to go I suppose but they've romped to the title so easily not just because of how good they are, but like it or not the challenge just wasn't there this year compared to last.
No doubt many would disagree, and any red wearing scouser probably has a klopp pic in their bathroom now for 'private reflection' but for me there's a noticeable difference between the achievements of a team that were all but there anyway and a team most wrote off.

I think the last part might sway it, along with the romanticism of Liverpool finally lifting the title after being so close for so long with some of the spectacular blow ups they've had.
When you look at what we've achieved this season, and how we've achieved it, it makes for some reading. Only nine losses so far, and four of them coming from City and Liverpool, unbelievable away record, currently second best defence, undefeated in the capital, sticking with players and a style of play everyone thought couldn't do it.
Still, it's nice that it's a two-horse race, and just to be able to say Wilder's a genuine contender again feels good.

Looks like both Moyes and Coppell won Manager of the Year without winning the award in their respective division, so it's possible Klopp will win the Premier League award and Wilder the overall one, or vice versa.

Erm... guys you do know there are two LMA awards a Premier League Manager can get. The main award for the 91 pro teams and one just for the 20 Premier League teams. And they are voted by managers not media.
Erm technically every single manager in the country has the chance of 2 awards. Their divisional award and the overall award although I'm not sure there's many below Premier League level that would have a chance for the overall award. Brentford's manager may be in with a small shout as per CW last year if they pip West Brom but barring that I can't see anyone else.

Glad someone has brought this up.
The misunderstanding is that Liverpool have spent a fortune due to some big money signings when in fact they are one of the lower net spenders over the last 5 years.
Their owners aren't super rich and very much see it as a business investment rather than a play thing like City's owner and most of their big money signings have been financed by outgoings.

indeed... fair play to them, it's exactly how i'd want us to move if we are a regular top 6 side one day.
Speak volumes for how well Liverpool are run when you compare teams of similar size like Arsenal and Man Utd, who have spent up to 4 times as much only to get Europa League football ... not to mention Brighton and West Ham who are barely staying up on double what the scousers have spent.
Gareth ainsworth might get a few votes.

Exactly. People forget they sold Coutinho, brought in VVD and still had over £60m left. Decent business that.
