Heartwarming but a bit of a disappointment.

Either he's taking the moral high ground with the board, or Abdullah is spot on with what he said so he's not arguing.

The only thing I disagreed with from the Prince in that interview was naming values; payoff amounts and ceiling wages etc. This should be kept private. Jim Phipps has been guilty of writing it on twitter too which doesn't sit right with me.

A classy statement from a Blades Legend. Too many great memories to mention, what a journey it’s been.

The biggest GLTTL there’s ever been. One of our own.

See you back on the terraces Chris. x
The best thing is, if he attends a game in future as I suspect he'd like to, all of these idiots calling him names on social media will be begging him for a photo to post on their facebook feed.

I have been a Blade longer than Chris Wilder, but only because I was born before him. He has been responsible for the best 4-year period of my 67 years going to the Lane, the levels of enjoyment and pride were unparalleled. In my eyes, he will always be welcomed back at the Lane, as a fan, a manager of an away team.... or of the Blades? It’s a funny old game.

He will always be a genuine upper echelon legend at the club and for my money he deserves a statue in the car park. He was deserving of every penny he's been paid and I'm still disappointed he's not leading us in the league below next season.

But, I also believe the statement from the Prince and I think Chris is very very good at playing 'the game'. He did it before he arrived, he did it to Charlton, I am certain there were legs in the Sunderland rumours and he clearly wanted out long before he left us this season. It doesn't leave any mark whatsoever on his term as our boss where his achievements will resonate for decades IMO.

Good luck Chris, thanks for the memories mate.

Love, a leftie snowflake xx

Nice sentiments from CW there just echoing what every Blade knows, the sad thing is it all ended so bitterly and the truth of the matter is we'll never really find out the true reasons. I know this season has been one of nightmares but as much as I know we were shite, I could not bring myself to call for his head. I know I've said he's made mistakes he'll admit that but I agree Covid last year took all the wind from our sails.

Had Covid not closed grounds to fans I truly believe that last season we'd have won FA cup & qualified for Europe. If you look at this season as well 2 clubs from PL have really been affected by no fans that's us and Wolves as we both thrive through crowd participation, look at the other side of the coin WHU when they play in front of home crowds universally slagged off.

This season no fans to upset them and they've gone on in leaps and bounds, I do wonder what it'll be like in their "soulless" ground with fans back slagging them off.

It's a shame it ended the way it did. Mistakes were made. But I was confident Wilder would learn from them and address them next season. It's better for all parties to move on from the mud slinging and move forward and this classy message from Chris should draw a line under everything. Thanks for the memories.

Great statement but his reign for me will always be tarnished by the way he left.

He gave me the most enjoyable few seasons of my time being a Blade though so I’d be the first to buy him a pint if I ever get the chance.

Good luck for the future Chris and hopefully we’ll still see you at the Lane now and again cheering them on 👍🏼

Its a nice statement, however chris says nothing about his departure. This for me says the Prince was accurate with what he said .
I don't think it matters now. He gave us plenty before this even if it is his own doing. He'll be on the Kop again soon enough and we'll have good days again even if they are sparodic amongst a back drop of underacheivement whatever happens now.

Sad to read, massive shame that he didn't decide to stick around for next season as he is still the best man for the job no doubt about that

Shame that he didn't just come out and say he thought he'd took us as far as he could or lost motivation/belief so that the fan base can move on and stop in-fighting

There's not a lot of substance to the statement just a lot of look at how much I've done for you etc etc blowing smoke

Thanks for the memories Sir Chris 😢😢😢😢

Standard farewell message. Nice to read given how much I like him but nothing particularly interesting in it and nothing about the circumstances that led to the departure. Not that I expected that.

Pigs are playing Liverpool, we've got Aldershot at hoooooooome, Aldershot at home ;)
Has tha been truffle sniffing and magic mushroom eating in woods......
Only way pigs will play Liverpool is on the subuteo table...and only if that doesn't rust.....
The aldershot bit yes that I can believe.....

Btw...Good luck for the Future Chris...thanks for some wonderful memories..

Thank you Chris, for all that you gave us, and all you gave back to us.
Please don't read this site, it's not reflective of how many of us feel. If we'd been able to be there, you'd see how many of us appreciate you. I'm only sorry that we weren't.

Ignore the fucking pondlife who've spread unsubstantiated bollocks about you since your departure. They're vermin, worse than any Wednesdayite, and if I had the choice between saving one of them who were on fire and making myself a sandwich, the only difficult choice would be between cheese and pickle or beef and mustard.

One of Our Own, Forever ❤⚔
Why you writing love letters to him on here if you don't want him to read them?

Calm down Doris

I would also buy him a pint for all the undoubted good times.....then I would take it away from him just before he finished it.
