Decent statement as I'd expect from Wilder and he'll certainly receive much praise because of the decorum from the letter. However, as
Addison said, he'll probably not be able to respond to the Prince's interview unless he wants to wish goodbye to the pay off he certainly deserves in my view. It doesn't mean that the Prince was right on certain aspects just because Wilder hasn't responded.
I never bought Warnock's book when he left, but I did buy Harry's, I bought the Bob Booker autobiograpghy (surprise) and I'll certainly buy Wilder's if he does one and I suspect we'll have to wait until then or at least a few years to hear Wilder's side. My thought's are that there is definitely another side to what the Prince said, but I remain behind the Prince also because I believe right now he still merits that, although I wish Wilder and the Prince could have worked this out for everyone's sake.
Few other points. As much as I love Wilder, if we get a statue of Wilder we should have one of Bassett and John Harris also, the latter before my time, but Harris managed longer than anyone else in two different spells and brought the Club several years in the top flight.
For those that say Wilder quit on us, I suspect that the Prince had far more to do with Wilder leaving than Wilder just resigning! If Wilder offered to resign as the Prince said then it's likely that was because Wilder thought he couldn't work any longer under the current circumstances and a likely lack of backing as he would see it. Remember in the summer when Wilder said that we desperately needed a replacement for JOC and nowt happened. That was a major error and I suspect that was due to the Prince wanting Wilder to sign who he wanted and not Wilder's choices. May be wrong there, but either way Wilder clearly DID want a replacement before the deadline. Robinson was only ever suitable as a fill in and no more.
We move on, I look forward to him coming back to the Lane, even if that's with another club (hope it's never with Leeds or Wednesday - Warnock almost did that of course the supposed huge Blade). Also hope that Wilder, unlike Warnock doesn't retain bitterness towards the Club as Warnock appears too, but Wilder strikes me as a man with far more class than Warnock.
All the best Tufty (don't even know why you're called that!). You do deserve a statue still and it's such a shame it ended the way it did, but that's footnall and Harry didn't leave as I would have wanted either.
He's a Blade and he's a blade!
