Wilder skulking off at the end of the game

First day back at work.

Apparently the city is blue and white and losing both games against your rivals means nothing if you end up in the same division now...

They’ve got a point!

At least we’re not starting the season 2 points below them this season

He was given 10 million pounds and signed TOM CANNON.

He signed Holding and never really played him.

His substitutions were always mystifying

He sees us 1-0 up against a poor Sunderland and tells the players to keep it tight and punt it up the field for the 2nd half.

We lose 2-1 and he runs away.

Not a manager the new owners need.
He's washed up!

He's washed up!
Tad harsh, burnt out yes through his emotional investment but I think washed up is a bit derogatory. Let’s not forget the positives, we need to heal over this season ready for next season. I don’t think Wilder still being in charge of his rebuild and tactics will help that process

More fool the owners if that’s the approach.
Fools and their money are soon parted.

One example of how it's done would be to put it into a Cannon and try to fire it.

Another might be to back a man who bought a Brewster when a JoC replacement was required.

Or bought a Cannon when a Souttar replacement was required.

And then brought in a last minute unfit Holding.

And then , to cap it all , once Holding was fit and showed his quality superior to that of Jack the 2 Hat , proceeded to select the latter and leave the former on the bench.

And guess what , Jack the 2 Hat shows Mayenda an unforgivable opening to score , being firstly in a bad position and secondly too feckin slow to recover and block.

Everyone but Wilder watches his inexplicable judgement like a slo-mo version of a fatal car crash.

That's a very short but very cogent argument to boot Wilder into the same orbit as Simmo's penalty.

He's made it all about himself and himself is a very unattractive arrogant specimen.

He simply must go.

My ST seat will be empty next season if he is still occupying his at the Lane.

After loving him till the Brewster/JoC suicide attempt , I can no longer stand the man for repeating it with Cannon & Souttar.

Got to agree with you, and I was probably out of order using the washed up response! But it's just how I feel at the moment, we need a fresh start with different ideas, instead of using the same thing and hoping it's going to get better, yes I appreciate he got 92 points, but come on let's be honest, how we got that many was probably decided on good fortune in a lot of the games, did anybody enjoy watching a lot of these games? I don't think so. And again some of the opposition was absolutely shite! And that includes Sunderland on Saturday! It was on him Saturday why we fucked up, which in my book is unforgivable! It was there for the taking!

Well, I’d argue that it’s not as simple as that, and you have to look at it in context, but this season I would say that we’ve mainly failed, yes. I have to say that at this moment in time, with the additions of Cooper, Burrows, Campbell and O’Hare were a better team than last season, but that could all change over the summer transfer window. In addition, outside of the few bright points, the style of play has been turgid, frustrating and even baffling at points. We haven’t been plucky underdogs who battled the odds and grabbed success from the jaws of defeat, we’ve been the architects of our own downfall through strange tactical choices, a lack of self-belief and ignoring problems within the squad that we had potential solutions to in favour of stubbornly sticking to a game plan that was clearly not working.

If we use this season as a platform to build on and do a Leeds next season then perhaps it won’t have been wasted, but as it stands, it feels like we’re treading water and that we’ve squandered a fantastic chance to progress and build.
I think that’s a much better view of things. I can’t say that I’ve enjoyed the approach throughout the season … and personally I think we always looked better going forward with wing backs in previous seasons. To me it seems that the approach is designed around the players available to us and we miss a consistent, pacey goalscorer.
But I also recognise that after the PL season the number 1 priority was to tighten up and start winning games again.
Many people (including me) said at the start of the season that being competitive again was a reasonable aim in the circumstances (ongoing ownership wrangle and need for huge refresh). So I’d say job done … but you are exactly right that we now have to show progress again and hopefully win promotion next season.
Ideally we’ll inject more pace into key positions and play with less restraint too…. the two things probably go hand in hand.

Agree

Firstly, Alan Biggs is a freak besotted wilder fan for some bizarre reason.
Secondly, why would he not go again when he is on an obscene salary, and doesn't give a toss what the fans think.
Sorry, I forgot, " IT'S MY CLUB"
Fuck off Wilder, i despise everything you stand for! !
I think you need to support a different club then…. and when people wonder why Wilder didn’t come and applaud the fans after the game … maybe they should also think about why so many of our fans failed to try to lift the team when they needed it … and are prepared to tell one of our greatest ever managers to fuck off.
With fans like that….

I’m sure somebody else will appreciate your seat.

They make a fair point. We're both on the same number of points in the same division...

It does mean fuck all. On that i totally agree with them!

I didn't even know that Wilder had gone down the tunnel as I left as soon as the whistle went. I was up in the top tier and I figured from up there I wouldn't be much noticed anyway and I was gutted. I don't blame any of the players if they didn't come over or Wilder. Maybe he should have come over but I suspect he was just gutted and maybe didnt want the inevitable abuse he'd get from some fans if he did go over.

I really dont think it's a big thing either way.

As for Wednesday, their only highlight this season would be us losing the play off. I would just ignore any Wednesday fan on a wind up. Thankfully I only have a small number of people I know who support Wednesday and if they wound me up I'd probably ignore them as best possible. They're almost an irrelevance at the minute. Fat more concerned on the relegated teams and how strong they'll be.

This is where supporters (or followers), will always disagree.

Football is different to any other entertainment business.

I dont know if its an age thing or just a love for SUFC at differing levels.

I would travel to most places when i was younger and would sing and support the team no matter what, but your comment about 'the fans failing to lift the team' has now differed, now ive unfortunately aged.

Now my thoughts are, 'why is it on me (who has spent a lot of money paying for a ticket), to lift a player who is paid a hell of a lot more than i am?

I guess its football.

Why should I stop supporting the team that I have done for 50 years. It is the passion of supporting the team that has brought an outcry of anger towards Wilder from the majority of fans (read the poll) myself included.
It is not just about just him contributing towards losing at Wembley, it is also all his childish immature antics that wind most people up off the clock.
Unfortunately, it seems he is staying, but it will get ugly if things don't start well next season.

Genuine question, if our manager wasn't a Blade, would you be so lenient with that response of Wilder's? It's not a loaded question, I know you're a fan and whilst I'm not (frankly I've had enough of the sound of his voice and his prickliness, lack of professionalism), I can understand why folk would like him. I'm just interested to understand if people would be quite so generous with their patience if the person in charge was not who it is.
