Changes needed. Ooh, we've never heard that one before!

The biggest change required is getting rid of the current 'old boys network' and appointing a better football coach and a recruitment team that can bring in fit players with the brain power and desire to implement a defined game plan.

Now is a great time to start but our owners are clueless.

Just heard CW's post match comments. I'm actually really encouraged after listening to it. Big changes needed. Proper United characters needed for next season. I'm more than happy to give him next year to turn this around UTB
What the fck does proper utd characters mean! Run around thugs what are unfit and always injured spring to mind!!

Do other clubs have the same nonsense narrative? Do you ever here managers say:

- we need proper Coventry City players / Southampton players / Brentford players.

Same with the manager profile. “We need a proper Sheffield United manager”

Imagine if Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford had gone with their respective manager and players…..they’d all still be languishing in the 4th division.

We’ll continue to get what we’ve always got if we go with what we’ve always had.

I was all for giving Wilder another year, but the way this season has petered out, with by the way 80% of players that he’s brought to the club, has made me realize it’s really time for a change. 12 of the 16 players that played today were all Wilder signings, plus Hamer his self proclaimed best player. If they’re not fit enough or not “Sheffield United” types of players then that’s on him.

Why would these fit players with brain power and desire rush to join us ?

Yeah a fair chunk of the match day squad are his players. He has frozen out a number of the summer signings bar Tanganga and Bindon. The summer signings are usually on the bench if that.

I love how he talks like these players and our fitness levels have nothing to do with him. How many of todays match day squad did he actually bring in? He's had 7 months to improve fitness levels and get us playing the way that he wants us to. But to use a phrase he coined 'its rinse and repeat'.

Hes here for the forseeable so we have to hope he can walk the walk this summer but with the same recruitment team and backroom staff its hard to see much changing.

Wilders only card left is to bang on about 'character' as if that's going to fix everything. His teams character blew auto's last season, bottled the big games in that season, bottled the PO final and now, well, we all see the result of months of Wilder leading the team again.

I'm not having it. He's yesterdays man, trying to hang on to the best job he'll ever have, for him.

We deserve better, smarter, more intelligent leadership. He's tiresome now. Like Jimmy White was last night. Lot's of positive talk for him, but ultimately failing his supporters.

We deserve?
You must have a “mate” that supplies deludamol

Our position is a product of the long term (non) investment in the club. The times we have played in the Prem recently, and the money spent, were won on the pitch and a direct result of a small group of people who took a team that struggled for 6 years in the third division and pulled its bootstraps up.

But yes, we deserve better.
Really?
Why?

I’m not even sure what point you’re trying to make.

You’re essentially saying that you’re more than fine with lower mid-table mediocrity, or worse, so long as Wilder is at the helm.

Wilder was great 6 years ago- he’s been left behind by how the game’s changed since then.

We are a team that’s spent 3 seasons in the premier league within the past 6 years- it’s ridiculous to suggest that wanting to have a competent coaching set up at the club is remotely like Wednesday levels of massive delusion.

We could lose every game for the rest of the season, stay up by the skin of our teeth (just about), and people like you would still be crowing about what a brilliant job Wilder has done.

Absobloodylutely!!

Issue in the world today is people focus on what they 'deserve' not what they can work hard and achieve.

Do Brentford 'deserve' to be a top half PL club?!?! No they implemented and funded a model which they've worked bloody hard to make successful. Let's not forget it was so long ago we took their best defenders off them two years in a row because we were the bigger team!

Rather than focus on vacuous nonsense like 'Sheff Utd type players', I'd much rather set real and tangible targets such as having the fittest team in the division that has two or three of the fastest players in the division - ideally all over 6ft. If that's the type of player that is a Sheff Utd player, then I'm all for it....
