Who's the 1 striker?
Cannon didn't come on til the 90th minute.
yeaah so, rak-sakyi instead of moore much earlier on. cannon for campbell earlier. avoid the diaz subsitution completely and bring mccalum on for hamer instead. cannon your only striker cant score but at least you have rak-sakyi who can quickly breakaway for you if your going to sit back like we were

But he's not is he? We were absolutely cruising at 1-0 and we lost 2-1, where does the blame lie? Are they a better team than us? Do they have better players? Were we unlucky? Is there no blame and its 'one of those things '?

of course we were fucking unlucky.

Clearly the better team and lost Hamer, BBD and Ahmedhodzic through injury.

Down to 10 men when they scored in the 95th minute.

I think you could call that unlucky.

Who would you replace him with?
Anyone who wouldn't gift Sunderland the ball.
As soon as he made the substitutions he basically gave them the game.

Why the fuck would you bring 2 ft 3 Callum O'Hare on and play him as a striker.

And then why the fuck would you bring on BBD, who is unfit and does nothing defensively, and play him as a left midfielder?

A fucking child would probably switch them round.

But a child would have probably thought it might be a good idea to bring on an extra midfielder given we were just sat back letting them attack us.

All on Wilder. As per the autos. Too cowardly to play attacking football and finish teams off. We literally let them play themselves into some form.

Disastrous management when we had them in our pocket at half time.

And if JRS is fit and he left him out of the squad then fucking hell.

And what the living FUCK was he doing bringing on Seiki for Anel when HOLDING is sat right there?
Yes. Bad management. We started trying to defend a 1.0 lead in the second half when it was obvious we needed a second. Time wasting etc instead of going for it like we did in the first half. We gave Sunderland belief and confidence. Wilder negative tactics again. Trying to over manage it.

Against the 3 promoted teams.

P7 W1 D0 L6.

Nothing more to be said.
We could have been autos but Wilder lost that to 3 poor teams. Same today Sunderland offered nothing but we lacked a leader as well as too many missed chances. How long before Wilder learns that no matter how badly you want some players to score they just can't .

Sat here in hospital after my bypass operation todays result has done nothing to aid my recovery plan lol. What it has is confirmed in my mind the is manager lacks tactical nous. At half time the footballing world acknowledged there was only 1 team in the game. After 75 minutes sky commentary said no Sunderland fan in the stadium can believe they were going to win this game 2-1. Add in earlier stats that teams who concede first in play off finals rarely go onto win the game. Today we have witnessed a cacophony of CW's seasons tactical failures all rolled into an abject second half perfrormance in the clubs biggest game in years. De Bries immediately saw the problem moved le Fe to a 10 and brought on runners in Isidor, Roberts and Watson to expose our weakness to being turned around. The coaching team failed again at the final hurdle and the the decisions regarding substitutions became more bizarre as the game progressed a reoccurring problem all season.

What it also confirms is that any manager who believes that players of the limited capabilities of JLT and Brewster are adequate to start a play off final does not possess the credentials that any new owners would require of a head Coach taking the Club to the next level,

Big decisions are now required from the new owners. The same golden opportunity can not be tossed away again on the back of a coaching team that fails all the tests required to overhaul the off field management of the Club. A new Sporting Director specifically employed to manage recruitment ins and outs and contracts closely followed by a Head of Medical Services should be part of the reset button being pressed now by new owners shortly after thanking CW and dispensing with his services. Failure to do do so will raise concerns about the new owners intent moving forward.
Get well soon Addison, I always enjoy your posts.

Great post..and best wishes for your recovery

So you're saying to take off our only striker for "anyone" ?

And in the same post you're also saying that Wilder is too negative?

Cooper timewasting sent a big signal to Sunderland that we thought we weren't good enough and given them the confidence they hadn't shown before that . Was that Wilder's instruction or the players?

We were cruising, they weren't in the game, we then made changes and they took over, who's fault is it then ?
Enforced changes. Hamer was injured and Campbell can't last 65 minutes, as he hasn't done all season. My main criticism is that he should've brought Cannon on for Campbell and stuck with two strikers up top, as it was working.

That's old news now

CW is now risk averse. His main strength in his first tenure was his bravery and drive. That's gone.

He's had his time. We need a fresh character, voice and less Chris clichés and badge thumping cliques.

Eventually the nettle has to be grasped and the time is now.

So you agree then. Should never have bought BBD in who was shit before he was out and was then out for 4 weeks and he brings him of the bench.

The worst team...by a country mile....won the game but Wilder had no culpability?

Add to that the poor fitness levels of some of our players.

The fact our best player is regularly drinking and eating large meals in public does not please me at all. And then his body can't last for a full game. The management must surely know about it as everyone else seems to!

But the sheer lack of fitness is ridiculous. We don't even play high press. We can score a goal and then sit behind the ball and they're on their arses after 70 minutes.

Big fan of Wilder and think he's done really well this season. Will always see him as a legend.

But, I think there's a question mark about how we've turned up this year under pressure. And that should really be his strength.

Might be the right time to take a new direction.

Yeah busted flushes often finish with 90+ points.

We had the chances to win, we didn't take them and they did. Ruthlessly
The league has been a fucking farce quality wise, we’ve still managed to not go up. We’ve barely rolled teams over, we’ve just tried to edge our way past and that’s completely blown up in the last 2 months.

Wilder is at fault for today.

Wilder is at fault for missing out on top 2.

Wilder is at fault for making Robinson captain.

If we have any ambition, he will be gone. We won’t however and I imagine the new owners will see their arse and not sack him due to the wilder cult.
