Not read every post on this thread and it might be mentioned elsewhere but whilst I do think Wilder is our only and therefore best option I worry a lot about his health. Me and him are both Blades of a similar age but I've learned to let all this football bullshit wash over me and not affect my personal life - he can't. I know he gets paid a lot of money but I fear for his mental state.

I've been impressed by every spell he's had here; he's achieved above par in all three spells. If his name was Cristofaro Wilderino and he had zero association with United he'd get 1000 times more respect by the minority of hyper critical fans who happen to support the same club. There's nowt as queer as folk.

It's a shame he's knocking on as he'll take some replacing. If he consolidates us and we can sort the boardroom out it's probably too long, and too big a job for him to rebuild us due to his age. It'll be a sad day.

I agree with paragraph 1,2and 4 of your statement wholeheartedly. Don’t disagree with the others. I’ll give him a dozen matches to try and rekindle something, I’m certainly not a fan of mark 2 and definitely 3 but he’s got a free pass at present. My gripe,and we discussed it at the time is that the club let Keith Andrew’s walk through the door,he was touted well before he left by players at the club.

I thought the same regarding Andrews mate, but let's faced it if he had stopped here, he would have been crucified by the fans on the results, and then his Brentford career would have never happened, he couldn't have made a better decision, good luck to him top bloke

The one thing we all agree on is COH, or whatever they are calling themselves this week, are totally untrustworthy. Unfortunately we are stuck with them for probably some time to come.
They showed how incompetent they are by sacking Wilder and bringing in someone totally out of his depth. Their only redeeming feature being they realised their mistake and brought Wilder back.
Whatever version we now have, 1,2, or 3, he is the best we can hope for under whatever comes out way now.
Worst case scenario appears to be a 12 points deduction. I think this is a distinct possibility. As a previous poster has said somewhere, when Wilder came back we were already 15 points down. Wilder steadied the ship, and under these circumstances brought us to mid table safety. We did at that time have a more creative midfield which helped enormously.
Even with what we have now, should we get a 12 point deduction, Wilder is the only manager who can keep us safe. ( anybody with any alternative s state your case now).
Although getting to mid table with this depleted squad and possibly a minus 12 points ,it won't be so easy this time.

I’ve been constant in my view that Wilder 1.0 was one of the best, if not the best, I’ve seen in my time. I’ve also been constant in my view that we shouldn’t have gone back to him.

I’ve lost trust in the board, in COH or whatever they call themselves this week. I’ve no love for the Prince either, I’m sure Mcabe is thinking what goes around comes around.

But two wrongs don’t make a right. It might be “the way things are done in the corporate world”. But in my world view of right and wrong, it’s a shithouse trick. What if I bought a burger and then only paid half?

Wilder is a mardy, truculent, chip on both shoulders sod as he has got older and I have no time for his entourage.

All of that being said, he’s the only man at the club that I trust, given the situation we are in

I’m anti-Wilder as they come. Have been since the final whistle of the play off final V Sunderland.

There’s no “agenda” here, it’s what every club has in its fanbase when they’re not doing as well as they should do for a club of its size.

I completely understand our situation off the pitch. However, we have players in our squad who are MORE than capable of beating anyone in this division on their day. We just don’t have a tactically astute manager capable of directing them to do so.

On a reflection, my WILDER OUT thread may be a tad early now I know more about our off the pitch happenings BUT I still think Wilder should be doing much more with the players at his disposal. We’re not even having a go which is the least I expect from a United team containing these players. We look devoid of any ideas or creativity or plan - even urgency. That’s on Wilder.

Given our lack of creativity is it unreasonable to point out that some of those wages could been more wisely spent?

We cant blame the board for us having brought all of Rothwell, Jairo and Phillips in (when we already had Peck and Blaster)but us not having a single left winger (which is one area we needed even before Gus left)

But starting this thread after an okay performance where we could have won it with everything happening in the boardroom, limited incomings and Chong and One who were bright spots last week missing is obviously someone who wanted to moan regardless.

I was always disappointed that Simonsen wasn't spelled Semenson as that name would have lent itself to far more inane gags than the penalty miss, the fax machine and kidney punching.

Yep I’ve come to the same conclusion as you I need to support him although I can’t see any successful future with him but that’s mainly down to our owners I’ll be glad when/if we reach 50 points I’m praying that the owners will have found some more money or will have ‘exited the club’

I think binning Wilder would be a breathtakingly stupid thing to do. I was deeply suspicious of his second coming and didn't remain convinced right through last season's struggle and the previous season's end of campaign failure. We had a poorly assembled squad of pretty lightweight players and zero bite and shake.

This season we are even worse off and patently not going to tear any trees up. If you take the squad player-for-player we look very capable, but under Wilder we aren't. The thing that saves his bacon for me is that we have tried alternatives to him - Slav, Hecky, Selles - and really paid the price and right now, backstage, we are facing a gigantic existential crisis, possibly bigger for us than the pigs faced last year. No manager worth his salt would come to a club where the ownership was so structually damaged (thanks to their own incompetence) and funds to strengthen are never available.

There's a likelihood we might end up with minus twelve (or combinations of) a transfer embargo, or have the owners bankrupted out of existence with HRH chasing his £35m right through the club. I don't buy any of the soft soaping so called experts spoon onto this situation that the crap COH/1919 have bestowed on Sheffield United in that the court action won't touch the football club and is directed elsewhere. When it all boils down to it they are businessmen and not Bladesmen, and rather than go to jail they will break up and sell anything they can if the lawman comes knocking.

In the meantime all United can do is keep playing football. The fifteen million we have trousered from Brooks and Hamer to them is 'dosh', not 'transfer dosh', which is why we have that piss-weak statement (that we get every year) that we will be looking at loans and out-of-contracts rather than hard, solid purchases and why Anel is at Burnley now and Souttar won't be pulling on stripes this season. It was they who squandered last season's last parachute payment on AI slop and it was they who appointed a novice in place of Wilder, who had clearly fell out with them backstage in the close season over their daft 'plans'. I won't be at all surprised if they make attempts to fire-sale the club and we spend most of this season lurking in the lower third praying for some or other miraculous run or wins and draws to propel us into the outer regions of playoff hope. I mean, the utter preposterousness of us even playing in the top flight without a whole-squad change (we don't have one player - even Bamford, who is close to PL standard) or even the vain hope we would beat the curse and get promoted by the playoffs leaves me suspecting some need mental health treatment.

The bottom line is we are stuck in this division now, and won't be even close to thinking about better times and fulfilled ambitions until every current player is paid off, transferred and gone, WIlder isn't our manager any more and the soft-headed shower of deluded individuals have flogged us to someone with real money. And we all know, that isn't ever going to happen. We don't get that kind of fortune. Look at the hope and expectation when HRH came in on 5% with McCabe and then when he ousted him and took the lot. We were all imagining big purchases and us shooting upwards or even staying in the PL. But what happened?

We may as well dig in and plan for survival with our priority and objective set as not to be relegated, especially with a mediocre, underperforming squad and a manager who is just patching up leaks in the hull.
