Wilder interview on Sheffield Live

Solid interview, basics well in place with a manager who has 707 league games with a 42% win record at some average clubs and has never been sacked.

He's obviously a Blade in his dream job, for example he spent a great morning over a cup of tea chatting with Currie, Hemsley and Badger, when he should really be holidaying but there's nothing much better than talking football and SUFC in particular.

Said it's not just the owners' money he's spending, it's his and every fan's money too- spot on.

Strong hint we are in for Lee Novak.

Young interviewer referred to two "Billy Big Timers" affecting things last season. Wilder emphasised it's essentially a team game where everybody has to pull together.

3 centre halves the priority then midfielder and a target man striker.

Said he had to see who moved on before he knows which other positions he has to prioritise.

Said there is a playing system and we search for players to fit into the system, indeed some of those departing do not fit in.

Said while it's a re-build there is no way he can claim extra time and space and that promotion has to be the priority this season.

Worked with Alan Knill at Southampton when he was a junior and Knill a senior pro.

Tried for Revell but missed out. Holmes got an offer he couldn't refuse but Wilder seemed to say he was not a priority ( we have Duffy I suppose).

Interview just about worth listening to; fair bit of waffle and nostalgia and 'fluffy, touchey-feelie' stuff. Straight forward, experienced bloke who was encouraged to give long answers to simple leading questions on being a Blade and what it means to him and every other Blade. Excited at the chance to put us back on the map and believes he has earned the chance to do so on his record over those 707 games and particularly last season. Only a gentle reference to finances.

Cheers WWF. As I am unable to hear what was said in the videos I am grateful to you to you putting in what was said

Didn't he mention something about this weekend early next week regarding player recruitment

Silent - not sure if you are aware but there is a subtitles option available within You Tube (it is the left button on the four on the bottom right hand side). They are not particularly fantastic (particularly with local dialect) but you should be able to follow what was said.

A tad concerned about possibly using the transfer listed players if required.

Hammond, Coutts, Woolford and to an extent Diego, all their attitudes stink. Would not have them any where near the first team set up.

Wallace, Wallace and Freeman i could see giving it a good go to change the managers opinion.

He also said 2 centre backs for defo maybe 3. Maybe the 3rd depends on how Semple shapes up in Pre season.

Tried that before and it wasn't easy. Will try tonight to see if the technology has improved since the last time I tried. Cheers

Strong link with Novak......... Well we have just lost him to Charlton !!

Sorry I meant WWF! Cheers!

You did post "WWF" but when I read it I immediately thought of all the good work WHF did with manager interviews.

In fact I sent WHF a personal message on conversations encouraging him to come back on the Forum. We can't afford to lose positive, optimistic fans wishing the club success and willing to show their support and belief in something or somebody. We have too many negative and pessimistic members who seem to want to cause doubt and create discord for whatever reasons.

Why doesn't evrybody send WHF their own invitation to come back to the Forum?

Seems we have missed out on at least 3 signings then , all of whom have gone to fellow League One clubs. If anything tells you how hard this job is going to be for Wilder or anyone else with the current board then that's it. Any talk of "acting the biggest club in the division" is just idle fantasy from the fans. We are acting like what we are . A mid table league one club.
The support and ground and history of the club is irrelevant thanks to whats gone on in the board room over the past 10 years

Just hope Wilder can get a team together on the cheap. At least we know he will be just as frustrated as all of us

Remember Adkins. He was positive and optimistic. It's not too much of a stretch to deluded and in denial you know :)

I also enjoyed the write ups despite the fact the tone did occasionally border on propaganda!

Loved parts of the interview, especially the "great cup of tea" with TC, Len Badger and Ted Hemsley bit and all the Bladey Bladeyness. Also liked the specificness about the (main) targets: 3 centre-halves, a left-footed midfielder, and a targetman (not that we didn't know that already, but no harm at all in being clear and direct).

But a tad concerned about other bits. The talk about Revell for instance - the fact that we clearly pursued him & that he clearly chose Northampton over us. And the seeming softening towards the transfer-listed players (and the talk about the need to shift them out before bringing in "replacements", suggesting they're fully functioning parts of the squad until such a thing happens).

For many on here, because he's positive and optimistic?

Did WHF reply to your personal message , saying he has moved on with his life since McCabe sacked him. :D

There is positive but bordering on propaganda madness . One flew over the cuckoos nest

He looks like he's aged 5 years in the last two months.
