Some posted before the game that they were ok with the changes and those 2 needed a rest. Well fuck me. Moose only recently playing regular games and Didsy acclaimed by Wilder at the weekend, and saying we are a far better side with him playing in the team. Sorry Chris but this one is down to you!

Sorry pal but that is utter utter bollocks. I just can’t find words to say how wrong you are in that assessment. He’s got to manage a squad that lacks depth over a busy period and he decided that resting the Moose and Didsey for at least half a game was the best way to go. No disrespect, just minor squad management. We didn’t play that bad, It was schoolboy errors that cost us and with a little bit of luck we could have got a result tonight, but we move on just like we did after Walsall, Birmingham, Leeds and Southampton etc. at home.

I can’t believe how quickly some of you fookers turn but it’s good to know you’ll be able to step up to the mark should Wilder ever leave.

Didn't have a problem with the front 2. We needed a no.10 with that front 2 though as neither do the Goldy role

When I first heard the team news, I didn't understand how it wasn't kept the same, but at the same time the strikers weren't the main problem today. It was the midfield that didn't click enough to break down what was an obvious park the bus tactic.

We dropped our levels tonight, and were disappointingly beaten at home by an inferior side. But come on. Are we really entertaining this thread title seriously?

Don’t think we did drop our levels. We played some decent football tonight...enjoyable to watch.
However it brought back memories of previous performances under Wilder
where we always seem to struggle against teams that park the bus putting everyone in defence.

Agree we had some decent chances but thought quite a few who have been brilliant in recent weeks were a bit below par tonight.
JOC skied more crosses than I can remember him doing in a long time.
Bash miscues his clearance and immediately after was static on the ground when St Maximin headed in.
Fleck was very ordinary for quite a lot of the game.
Enda had quite a few passes cut off.
Lundstram drifted in and out of the game.
All amounted to a bad day at the office but Sunday is another day.

We really should have been at least 1 up in the first half. Then we win and everything works.

Their goal changed everything and it all went in their favour afterwards.

Then we looked increasingly leggy which explains the rotation in the first place.

Some of our fans seem to think you can just play your best XI every game, with every player sprinting 100% of the time for 90 minutes, and win every game.

You have to rotate players to manage a squad across a season. It’s not fucking rocket science. McBurnie (who played very well first half, by the way) puts that header 2 inches further to his right and we’re all celebrating a fantastic bit of team selection.

It's deeper than that, we always struggle to break down teams that defend so deep. The midfield needs a look at for me.

All teams struggle when up against mass defence including city.
Easy to be wise after the event .
Wwe were having ago when the 2nd goal killed us, it wasnt just the goal it's the officials who got it wrong not disputing the goal but inconsistency by them is what is killing the game..All this talk of play to the whistle when instinctively players momentarily stop playing and that moment is key.
The linesman shouldnt have flagged but after he did the ref should have blown as he did later in the game.
The all atmosphere in the stadium changed at that point and game just died.
The incident knocked the stuffing out of everyone.Where do you draw the line at when a linesman should flag ..
VAR has not worked for us so far .

In the champ towards the end of the season we used to let the opposition play and lay off the press to get the ball then break, I’m thinking against the less technical sides especially the limited ones like Newcastle who are only gonna come and park the bus we need a sinatra approach.

Mousett is still not fully fit and is blowing out of his arse after 60 mins. Didz is the wrong side of 30. They will have played 3 games in a week on Saturday and have loads of games over Xmas. Obviously you have to rotate them at some point. That’s why we have another £25m of strikers on the bench.

Wilder, with his years of experience and team of sports science people, clearly thought last night was the time to rotate rather than simply running them into the ground contrary to the advice of parks football knownowts screaming “play your best team”.

We lost a game, first for ages, it happens. It’s the Premier League, get over it.
