Wilder fighting with Plymouth players in tunnel

They replayed it on Sky Sports and it didn't look good. They shouldn't have been celebrating in front of our end like that but it's not his job to confront their players.

I think it's fair to say we did plenty of celebrating at Pigsborough in front of theirnfans without incident.

It's a sign that in the space of 8 days that the pressure has got too much for him. We need calm heads for the play offs
Without incident like them throwing fireworks at our players?

I've waded through the whole thread and not one person has described what happened in the lead up to this incident. I was at the game and don't know what tv showed.
I didn't rush to leave the ground and watched United players and staff in a huddle whilst the Plymouth players went round applauding their fans. As the United huddle broke up there was some hand shaking between United and Plymouth players. Anel even had his arms round a Plymouth player and all seemed amicable. I then saw the Plymouth no15 shouting at ( I think Clark) and the No15 then approached Clark with Plymouth players trying to hold No15 back with United players doing likewise with Clark.
The ref had left the field by the time this was happening.
The players all were approaching the tunnel with No15 and Clark being held back. This is when CW became involved- the No15 was being restrained as CW turned and looked at them. The 2 Plymouth players had some verbal from CW and it appeared that the No15 was being held back by the other Plymouth player.
They then disappeared into the tunnel. I have no idea what happened then and I don't know whether tv showed anything.
CW shouldn't have got himself involved but this has been blown up out of all proportion- but no doubt there will be another fine on the way- and rightly so.

I've watched the tunnel video a few times and CW was not directly involved. When they are walking in the tunnel a player behind CW think Robbo starts handbags with a Plymouth player, CW gets shoved in the back and pushed forward. CW then disappears out of the picture and there is another guy with similiar haircut to CW who is pushed about from what I have seen apart from that initial push in the back CW is no where to be seen. Fans accusing CW of starting a fight or being involved I personally think they are wide of the mark. Any other game and it would be discussed as handbags at dawn, as we lost to a poor team off the back of this just think its being blown out of proportion.

But he's a mindless thug who insults the same fans who used to sing his name with aplomb not just literally, but in the way he acts.

He's also a dinosaur of a manager stuck in the past like his mentor Dave Bassett.

The fact that he refuses to sign forruners unless they were born here also suggests he's stuck in the past socially.

He is bringing nothing but shame on our football club and needs to be replaced ASAP with a true tomorrow's man like Daniel Farke or Danny Rohl.
How dare you criticise Dave Bassett?

So not only do we have a captain that's generally more interested in playing WWE than football, we have a sore loser for a manager, who sets out a great example to players by scrapping with tin pot Plymouth players for our classing him.

I was thinking the same.

Are some of our fans calling this fighting ha ha.
They wouldn’t survive in a real fight.

What are we suppose to be looking at?
Just looks like a bit of pushing and shoving.
It's more the principal of it mate. Managers and players are paid handsomely to keep a handle on things, even more so in the case of management.

It's really not a good look

I thought some of the bed wetting after Oxford was unnecessary, but we have actually fucked it now. Is it really bed wetting at this stage?
Not over till its mathematically over mate, even when it is we got the playoffs! Who would have taken that at the beginning of the season?

The bed wetting comment was the general overview of this whole thread….especially the Wilder handbags that got blown out of proportion! Im not a fan of Wilder at all especially after he left through the back door and then came sneaking back with cap in hand.
However to me It’s just a game, just a distraction, just something to suck up ya money! Who cares if we go up or not! Its the same blueprint year after year 22 men kicking a bag of wind around a field for silly money, rinse and repeat!

Apathy is my friend when it comes to sports and I wont let it get to me because in the end its all bollocks really!

Presumably the Plymouth player was still angry about the tackle that Clark was booked for (my impression is that it was a poor challenge, clear yellow, looked bad from some, but not all, angles). There appears to be an absence of replies to your detailed description of what happened afterwards. Perhaps indicates that a lot of people have an agenda to pursue, rather than an interest in finding out the truth of what happened. Perfect social media ‘discussion’.

Players and staff don't fight. They push, shove and shout. Nobody is getting arrested for having an argument on the pitch or tunnel.
It's the same concept, fans see other fans celebrating a win and they start with the bravado.
Besides when was the last time you saw football fans actually fighting, all they do if two coppers can't manage to separate them is push and shove and wave their arms about at each other

If Robbo hits Haji Wright with the stone cold stunner then smashes Lampard with a steel chair then build a statue

I've no agenda to follow, I just quoted what I saw on TV and what was repeated a number of times. Their players were giving it the big one in front of our fans and Wilder who was originally walking towards the tunnel turned took a couple of steps towards their players, stuck hos chest out and said something. There was no violence and everyone is free to interpret the situation as they wish.

The tunnel skirmish was impossible to see with any clarity but looked no worse than any other handbags seen. The difference is we have been fined twice this season already for failure to control our playing staff so there is probably another one incoming. I'm not sure the owners are going to be impressed.

Err , I think you'll find football has moved on a bit since what Wilder & Robbo did was in any way acceptable

I feckin hate antiseptic modern football but we have to move with the times or stick out like a sore thumb for being sore losers
Yer let’s be like everyone else !!!

Let’s be good losers, that’s the best way to be in life. Quash all feelings, suppress all thoughts of standing up for your club and the oppo are giving it the bigun in front of our fans. Otherwise we will be left behind as football has moved on……..nar not for me

His 'emotional buy in' response is reducing our chances of turning this around. Think of the effects on the squad. Might give a few old boys a hard on, but it's not the leadership the team needs.
Nope that was his tactics, the work he did between games, his substitutions and team selection.

If our squad gets all emotional because the manager has had an argument with the oppo then it makes complete sense we look weak as piss at times.

I wrote what I saw and I'm surprised nobody has directly contradicted me. Having watched 'Adolescence' last night I realise there's a danger many people are misled by other people's repetition of what other people have speculated

Across several threads, pretty much all that's to be said has been said.

All I'll say that I've not really seen, is that amongst the "He's a disgrace/lost the dressing room" and "Good for him, good lad" without too much in-between, I'd say all those standing up for him yesterday really have, is "He's one of us".

Is he though? Because I wouldn't get rid of him personally, but imagine he manages one of our rivals rather than us- imagine he manages Leeds. We'd go mad wouldn't we, we'd think he carries on like a proper dick. It's all a bit Warnock, a bit Stan Ternant, a bit Mike Bassett.

And if the argument is "Aye, but he's our dickhead" he isn't really one of us is he? He gives it the big'un all the time, and rate him or not, he growingly makes it all about him. He believes his own hype and it doesn't really seem like a coincidence we have our performance of the season, go top, then lose 3 straight. Believe your own bullshit and it soon bites you on the arse.

Maybe over the years he could've done with good mates around him just to bring him back down to earth a bit, rather than some he does hang around with.
I’ve seen for myself who he hangs round with.

Monkey see, monkey do

How can people defend Wilder on here? Where's his class? Where's his dignity? He can't even speak properly. Watch how he says 'opportunity'. It's embarrassing. The club should send him to a finishing school over the summer. I dread to think how he holds his knife and fork. The owners need to step up to the plate. If he carries on drinking, swearing and fighting then he just needs to go. Bring somebody in with a touch of decorum. For heaven's sake what's happening to our football club?

Being a grown up isn’t for you then? Fair enough though.

I agree with much of that. ‘Everyone is free to interpret the situation as they wish’ is the main problem. ‘Everyone’ cannot be right, but it is all too easy for unsubstantiated claims to become accepted as the truth.

Obviously not, having disagreements over a contact sport when passions are running high just makes you a big baby. Well count me in, just a big baby.

What is it about his mates? Often alluded to on here, but no one makes it clear what is 'wrong' about them.

Thanks for that. You keep objective in your view on situations.
Helps many of us keep it in perspective.

Wasn’t there so can only point out what people have said on here but the other story is that the two players were “giving it the big un” to the Blades fans. No mention of Clark. Is there any footage of him being near the two before Wilder approached them? TV did show Peck reacting to something prior to the tunnel incident.

Clarke was getting it all game. I was there. As they went off, sorry left the pitch, there were comments but nothing wild. Brewster became involved, Souza pulled him away, bit of nothing really. Then Wilder who was heading to the tunnel not acknowledging anyone realised 5 metres behind him there was nonsense. He stopped, turned round, spoke to them, shoved shoulders out and then they all got shoved down the tunnel. Any Blade who was there and on the Blade end saw nothing more as the plastic tunnel obscured it. A few rather ugly and dense looking Plymouth fans may have had a better view. But no Blade in that away end could testify they saw nothing more than words, posturing, staring and swift running (Tyrese). Best reaction was Anel who had a child in his arms for the selfie and gave shirt away. He’s a cool dude really. Whilst all the others were being big men in the tunnel. Storm in a tea cup and well done Anel.

I don't think it's as bad as made out. I take it as, you're giving it the big one in front of our fans, they're my lot, and I'm gonna stand up for them.

What's this about him telling a Plymouth fan they're going down and having a dig at his weight?
