If he does return, who will he pick for the Charlton Game:-

4-2-3-1
Cooper
Seriki Tanganga Mee Burrows
Matos Peck
Ogbene O Hare Hamer
Campbell

Essentially the system and players who got 92 points last season but with 4 replacements.
Tanganga, Ogbene and Mee are arguably upgrades on Anel, Robinson and Rak-Sakyi
Souza the biggest loss but he was missing for large parts of last season anyway.
Matos probably the best option in that position or possibly Soumare / Davies.

He should be able to get us up and running again even if it’s not thrilling to watch.
I for one, will happily take that at the moment.

That team looks about as good as it gets IMHO. At present anyway.

Wait till he finds out Robinson's gone.

I wonder if he might go 4-4-2, like the end of last season, if Ings is fit. Free up Campbell. given the need for goals. But, otherwise would expect as the OP has posted, but probablly Godfrey starting despite his shocker on Sat. I imagine Wilder would want OHare in the first game, given how key he was to the press last season

I'd also go with that, best of a poor bunch.
Ohare, Campbell, Cooper and Burrows in particular deserve to be dropped, but replacements are worse
However I might even give Adam Davies and McCallum a go

Seriki or Ogbene for Godfrey, may as well have fast legs as RWB if we have 3 CBs. Think playing with two up front or two 10s is the next think if we have wingbacks.

Either O'Hare and Hamer as 10s with Campbell as the striker.

Or go back to the old Duffy, mcgoldrick, sharp days so need Hamer as the Duffy, O'Hare or Campbell as the link between striker and the 10 and Ings as the poacher.

Cannon will start up front with Campbell. Starting a game with10 men sacked on Sunday

Maybe this was all planned... they didn't trust wilder with the transfer window and wilder gets a summer to come up with an overlapping CBesque tactics.

Cooper
Tanganga McGuiness mee
Ogbene peck soumare burrows
O'Hare Hamer
Campbell

Subs:
Ings
Cannon
Brooks
Chong
Barry
Seriki
Godfrey or Bindon (both will be sent back in January I think)
Matos
A. Davies

Cooper

Godfrey Tanganga McGuinness Mee

Matos Peck Soumare

O'Hare Hamer

Campbell

Godfrey should never play for us again after that disgraceful performance against Ipswich. Obviously they were all shit, but the lack of effort from him was next level.
Completely understand where you are coming from, but I'd give him another chance. Even Selles wasn't written off after one game.
