Does Danny boy insist on giving BT and Hoskins only 2-5mins when we are chasing the game.

I dont want to get into the whole because BT is crap debate. What I mean is he brings 2 subs on too late in the game. Look at Scunny he changed 2 players at half time and totally changed the game.

Said this on another thread but scoring goals isn't thie issue. However,Cressy should have gone off at half time yesterday.

Porter won more headers in the time he was on yesterday than Creswell has the last 4 games

I think Hoskins needed to come on a lot sooner last night. They were all warming up as soon as we went behind but I think as we kept equalising the subs kept getting pushed back-despite scoring we needed a change as we were poor as a whole last night, our goals were individual efforts.

BT should have maybe come on sooner too, but I think Hoskins was the one we needed to bring on early. I was unsure why Cressy was subbed for Porter and not BT/Hoskins but I don't think Cressy really won any aerial battles last night, Porter won some (I think it's the only decent attribute he has).

Mind, I think no matter what changes we made when last night, we always seemed devoid of ideas.

Perhaps he believes that the team that starts the game is his strongest 11 and has faith in them, which is a major change from previous managers that always hauled off players.

Ched has certainly thrived from consistently starting and finishing games.

Personally I would give Hoskins much more time on the pitch

I think he's brought in Hoskins purely as a 'just in case'.

If Evans goes down, we've no-one on the books of similar ilk. Hoskins is that player

I think your right Soton. It's a shame Evans and Hoskins can't play a 90 together but they are too similar and might be a little light weight as a front two for this division.

I cant see why Evans & Hoskins cant play together. Our best performances are when we pass the ball. When we kick it long we generally lose possession as Cresswell doesnt win many headers. Having too quick players up front would stretch defences. That said if he still insists Cresswell is the answer then he has to bring him off earlier. He is generally utterly ineffective in the second half.

I'd agree, it would change the way teams defended against us and having the big men as back up would cause a different kind of problem

I think that to play Hoskins and Ched though, we'd need Macca back in Midfield.

Do you reckon DW is a bit scared of losing? Not willing to change things when we're winning or drawing and only when we're losing, which has been late on vs Weds and Walsall and therefore too late for a significant impact. (Saturday was slightly different with injuries, sendings off and the sudden turn around)

Wilson has always liked a big man up front wherever he's managed. He now has three "fit" big men in Cressy, Porter and BT all seem to be pretty much on a par with each other.

He seems to wait too long to sub Cresswell that is for sure.

He can't do a full 90mins anymore these days.

I agree Ched and Hoskins up front would work with McDonald back, but my worry is that the lack of a big man up front won't help create the space for runs. Unless Ched and Hoskins run rings around the lot of them
