Why didnt we bring Mcburnie back?

Because at the time Tyrese Campbell was our number one.
In fairness to McBurnie he chose to be somebody else’s number one.
In hindsight McBurnie looks like a no brainer now. But how did we know Campbells form would drop off a cliff and Cannon would still be channeling his inner Rhian Brewster.

If you are implying that it’s all down to the management and fitness regime at Blades then I don’t buy it. There’s a lot of personal baggage that McB carried and he’s openly admitted that he needs to grow up. I suspect the year in Spain helped that process.

McGoldrick, Sharp, Egan, Baldock, and many more. All of those were fine with the player management.
Its not just McBurnie, every player will have some form of " baggage" which in fairness should left at home and not brought onto the pitch, perhaps a lack of Professionalism or guidance from the club itself but that's no excuse for the same recurring issues from back then to the present day.
Culture gets mentioned quite a bit on this forum so maybe the management of club needs to take a long hard look at how it operates and this circle needs to end.

Bit surprising he's not in the Scotland squad after the season he had. Feels like a player with his profile could be very useful in a tournament, especially when he's in form.

They’ve already given him plenty of opportunities and he was really poor.

I spoke to a few Scots a few year back in Tenerife.
When I told them I was a Sheff Utd they asked about my opinion on Ollie McBurnie.

They were being serious when they said he’s one of the worse players they’ve ever seen wearing a Scotland shirt.
They said he was that bad it was hard to believe he’d ever played in the Premier league.
Hence why they were interested in my opinion and assumed he must be better than he’s shown.

I had to tell them his appearance doesn’t help.
He runs like he’s in pain, always looks knackered, has a slight limp and has a grimace on his face.
Anyone remember Steve Clarridge, he also had a ugly running style.

Agreed with them McBurnie isn’t good on the eye but hes better then he looks and some defenders struggle coping with him.

It could be that he just wasn't a finished product and got better since he left us.
He's 29 isn't he, the time in Spain did him a lot of good .He's basically grown up and matured into an effective centre forward. We get reminded regularly just what a disaster that last summer was from a decision point of view at every level in the club

Wow, sounds he'll have to set the Premier League on fire to ever get a chance for Scotland again.

If he’d said that he hated playing for Sheffield United how keen would you be for him to come back? That’s pretty much where Scotland are with him. His own big mouth cost him the World Cup.
