Anyone who was there that day Don Givens missed that penalty has experienced the lowest of the low.

All things are relative though and the first experience of relegation is not nice whatever the division.
Does make you appreciate the good times more though and not to have such extremem reactions to victories and defeats.

I think Wigan will go down.

I agree Joel. I don't think they're better than us. and west ham play four out of the top 5 clubs(everyone except liverpool).so hopefully that'll stop them getting the points they need.

I still we will stay up, just might be a little tighter than we thought a few weeks ago;)

we will stay up simple as all the teams below us have harder matches than we do and if they pick up the points they need they deserve to stay up

firstly dont be daft we ARE going down unless theres a miracle.We dont have the easiest run in we do in fact have thehardest as the other teams we are playing are also fighting for their lives.

What fixture lists are you looking at? are you living on some other planet?

Fixtures remaining for Charlton 3 home and 4 away;
Man City A
Reading H
Everton A
Sheff Utd H
Blackburn A
Spurs H
Liverpool A

West Ham 3 home 4 away;
Arsenal A
Sheff Utd A
Chelsea H
Everton H
Wigan A
Bolton H
Man Utd A

The red and white wizards 4 home 3 away;
Newcastle H
West Ham H
Man Utd A
Charlton A
Watford H
Villa A
Wigan H

I think the most important factor even though we have an easier run in, is that for the final game we are at home, where as the other 2 are away at 2 big clubs.

my point is we have a harder run in beacuase the teams we are playing against are also fighting for their lives.are you from some other planet to not understand that

In comparison to Charlton who are playing 5 teams vying to get in to uefa/champs league

And west ham who play 4 of the top 5

Figures mate

I have seen 2 relegations in my time watching Sheffield United

The first one was in 1988 when we lost a 2 legged play-off game with Bristol City. I was 9 years old at the time and was confident that we would get through it despite being 1-0 down from the first leg. We went a goal down early on due to ex-snorter Carl Shutt scoring from Bristol before pulling one back at around the half-time interval. We never looked like scoring after and went down with a whimper, loads of blokes from the kop invaded the pitch and i ended up travelling home in the car with my Dad crying my eyes out.

In 1994 i went down the train to Chelsea and was very very hopeful that we would stay up. I remember celebrating at full-time thinking results had kept us safe, before very slowly it dawned on us that the results hadn't gone our way and we we're down. It was like delayed shock and it didn't sink in for a while although i was absolutely stunned and travelled back to Sheffield in a daze.

The first few days after a relegation are usually the worst, you feel completely fucked off and are very disappointed that you will be playing a lesser class of opposition the following season. As the months wear on the feeling goes and you being to live with a bit hope and optimism, and are safe in the knowledge that a promotion push is probably on the cards and you will be one of the big hitters in your new division.

If we go down this season i think i'll go out and drown my sorrows in a heavy session before waking up the following morning and starting to live my life again

I think Foxy/Linz should set up a Brokelads on United's survival and I reckon Rotherhamblade, if you're SO SO confident that we'll go down, put everything you have on it - if, and when, you lose it all, you have to change your name to I LOVE OWLS for a month. :D
