Clough has mentioned two out for every new one in. Once you look at our list, you realise we have a ridiculously large squad of inept players.

I know Flynn, Porter, Murphy have some support in the fan base but I reckon we could lose them included in the following 13 (including 2 loanees going back).

I would take 6 in of Clough’s choice obviously for the following out.

Flynn
Porter
Murphy
King
Howard
Westlake
Williams
McGinty
Ironside
McFadzean
Johns
Lappin
White

I have the following in the last chance saloon

Doyle
Taylor
Miller
Kennedy

I also know we won’t do this in the middle of the season but all of these could be for the chop in the summer. Not before time in my view.

Who would you save ?

One player i would not want to see moved on is Cuvelier, bags of potential, it would be crazy to oust him without giving him a chance. Get him out on loan though!

howard
mcmoron, williams, johns (on loan), kennedy(on loan), westlake, mcginty
mcfadzean, murphy, lappin, white, flynn, coliflower(on loan), brandy
porter, taylor, king.

...........all have to go! Cloughie has a lot of work to do.

We should keep Long, Maguire, McGinn, Cuvelier, Brandy (yes really), Baxter, Taylor, Miller, De Girolamo and build a squad around that.

I think Cloughie can get the best out of Brandy and Taylor may raise a few eyebrows but he has something I think, just needs to bring it on a bit and up his level.

The rest are available for the right offer and some for the first offer!

Long and Maguire should leave if only to save their careers they are going backward playing alongside the shit in our squad, McGinn, good game bad game no wonder he can't hold a spot even in this team. Cuvelier I would loan out he was ok at Walsall as was Brandy but he is a petulant little twat of no worth to anyone warming a seat in the south stand. Taylor I would loan out to see if he can make it south of Hadrians wall. Why does everyone rave over Miller FFS he had one decent season in all his career at Crewe at a level at times lower than league one, get feckin rid ffs

Too much in and out too soon doesn't usually work (ask AVB) and takes quite some time to bed in if at all. Evolution rather than revolution is probably the way to go and seems to be the thoughts of Clough, judging by the 3 in, 3 out comment. Defender, midfielder, forward would seem sensible. Leave the rest to be sorted out in the summer.

Reading into Cloughs comments re: JTF, it seems that we'll only be making signings where we are screaming out for quality and the only position he has alluded to is up front. He has shown interest in Paddy Madden when he was at Derby and the Nouha Dicko rumours seem to even up to his loan being cancelled.

On second thoughts, i'd like 4 signings (in order of priority)

1. CF - Madden or Dicko (permanent)
2. CM - Nicky Featherstone (permanent)
3. RB - John Brayford (loan)
4. GK - Any with experience to give Long a breather (loan)

Never raved about him but he has proved that he's capable of scoring goals. He fell out of favour at Crewe due to the emergence of Nick Powell but once he started getting regular football again (with us) he was playing well and scoring goals. He then suffered a bad injury and has just come back. I think he's done enough to deserve a chance to regain his form with us.

Of course we could gradually jettison the entire squad and start all over again from scratch.....that's worked for us in recent years.

I'd say ta-ta to the doily, Collins, Porter & McMahon (as well as out-of-the-picture Williams, Westlake & King), paying up their contracts if needs be.

Still got hopes myself for Cuvelier, Murfy, Brandy, Taylor & (after his transformation over the past few weeks) Flynny.

If we got rid of the Big 4 & replaced them with a new spine (& an attacking right back) we'd be well on our way out of mediocrity, I'd say.

Well it depends if you are talking long term or not,

Long term I would take only take Baxter, Maguire, Diego and (possibly) Long.

And that is IT.

Priority has to be a goalscorer but also a winger to provide some ammo for them. If we get those then you are down to transfers that improve the first eleven only. We have enough squad players to fill 3 teams with shit, no more please. No ones for the future either. If we are going to splash the cash then lets pay the wages and fees that will get better players in. Only then should we let go of our own first team players. Outside the first eleven and Brady and Taylor (who I think does have potential) then the rest can go for me.

If we really do have the money, then we should spend it before letting go of the Porters etc of this world. Also, I wouldn't expect us to be letting too many go who signed in the summer. Next summer perhaps but its still too early to be letting players like Brandy go.

A couple of weeks ago Baxter would have been on most people's list to leave , whoever AD , Clough seems to be getting the best out of the player , I like to give everyone a season to bed in properly , was one of Flynns defenders , but now think he's throwing a leg because his contracts up in the summer , murphy don't think he's strong enough or quick enough for the English league , Porter been a tryer best sums him up hearts in the right place but his feet are on another part of the pitch , think mr Clough knows what he's got and what he needs to replace ,wouldn't be to hard on cuvo or the other young un up top , only been here a wet day, so plenty of time to devolope . For me 3in 6 out if possible , and start building for next seasons promotion party. UTB .
