Great result today & we can only look after ourselves of course, but with each of the top four winning today - the pressure mounts.

Scunthorpe, Bolton, Bradford and the Blades. Who do you expect to flinch first?
 



I'll go with Bradford.

Although I hope it's Scunthorpe. Any club that deliberately gets itself relegated from the Championship so that they don't have to pay for ground renovations and increased overheads shouldn't be cluttering the fucking place up.
 
Scunthorpe, Bolton, and Bradford. They can all fight between themselves for the best losers medal this season.
 
Could be said we are due a defeat.
I don't think we will go another 10 games unbeaten to stretch it to 20!!! That just doesn't happen with the blades. So a defeat is on the cards.

The others have had a mini blip recently while our form has been significantly better. So it will even out a little.

But out of those I reckon Scunny aren't a particularly good side. They are organised and play a simple system of getting it down the channels and working hard picking up second ball. They don't ooze class and have lots of quality, and when Morris loses his touch and they get a couple of injuries at the back they will struggle.
 
Still relatively early days. Last season the Dingles were bottom of the league at Xmas. We are the form team, take away our first 4 matches and we are the boys to beat. If we win our game in hand Scunny will only be two points above us and that's nothing in October early November, and we've been to all three grounds, they have to come to us. Seems like the belief is there.
 
Bradford.

Bolton will stay up there and Scunny probably will too.

And the bigger the gap we can build between ourselves and MK Dons and Millwall the better.
 
Not us, we're in an ideal position tucked back behind the leaders.

Scunny have got two very winnable games coming up, then things start to get interesting for them - they've got a very tough December.

And Bolton have won six on the spin now - they can't keep that up. They're not really that special a side.

Bradford are good. But an automatic promotion side?

It's all very even this season. Look at where Bury are now. Two or three weeks ago they were above us, now they're nearer the bottom than the top (& not only 4 points away from a relegation place).
 
Wilder won't let it happen. Nor will McCabe if he's keen to get out of this division. The division pace setters are either clubs with the squad and the finance to see the job through (e.g. Wolves) or a team in form with no plan B if things go awry (e.g. Gillingham). I think/ hope Scunny are the latter.
As for Bratfut and Bolton, they'll be there or there a outs come the end of the season. Still fancy us to finish champions.
 
All of them look good at the minute and so do we. Plenty of time for them to fall off the pace. I suspect Scunny don't have the squad to sustain it, but then neither did Burton.

Just hope we keep in decent form. Can't see us unbeaten for another 10.
 



Said it last week, every time we get a good side together at least one or two others turn into The invisibles for a season.

This side playing like this would have walked out of the league for the last two seasons. This season is not going to be so easy I am afraid.

That may become true but I don't agree with it yet, usually 2 pts/game (or thereabouts) will get auto and early season you quite often get 3 or 4 teams running at that rate, it's the ones who maintain it for a season who are promoted. At the moment only scunny are in that form (over the season), so I expect the wins (for the form teams) to continue until the cold weather comes in and then it's who adapts better.
 
Bolton and Scunny to die off after xmas :D you heard it here first.
 
As Kevin Gage said during the week, it's time to believe in our team. Still a lot of negativity around amongst the fans. Why can't we keep the run going? Why are we due a defeat? It's been a really difficult start fixture wise and the lads have been brill since the first 4 games.
I am not worried about any other team in this league. Wilder has got the place buzzing again so relax and enjoy for a change.
 
It's long overdue that we don't give a fuck about what other teams in this awful league do or don't do. All we need to do is get behind our club and team as it's screamingly obvious we have for the first time in years got a manager who is not just a massive Blade but actually understands the DNA,chemistry,vibe,expectation and has the ability to manager all those things. A bloke who calls it straight. Takes no shit from board or players and has the strength both mental and physical to force his plans and needs into a previous sack of shit squad who,with some astute signings have clearly bought into his masterplan.
Fuck every other shithouse outfit in this league. For the first time in years we are SHEFFIELD UFUCKINGNITED and we are on the fucking march!

The standard of football in this league is far better than last season so far.
 
On paper you would expect Bradford to drop off eventually. Wilder, Alexander and Parky all have recent managerial promotions on their C.Vs so provided they don't pick up any big injuries you would expect them all to keep it going and use the JTW to good effect. McCall doesn't have the same pedigree but is also no slouch so could still stay in the mix, if only for a while at least.

I wouldn't rule out Charlton, MK or Coventry making a late surge either and spoiling someone's party.

In other words, far too close to call yet. We should have a good inkling by Christmas who has the marbles to see it through.

The defining time will be the JTW when a freshen up of the squad will be required for the second half of the season push . The intent of the board will be of equal importance has Wilders tactics and motivation skills . We have a historical tendency to fall at the final hurdle . This year the signs are different with a built in inner belief , strength and winning mentality . Fuck knows we have waited long enough for the moment .

Agree the JTW will likely decide who is going up. I don't think we need much freshening but I believe EEL's loan is up in January and we need to look at the CF and CM positions as well.
