Who still thinks we can go up?

we'd be at the wrong end of a dogfight for the whole of next season (probably with Collins or McEvely still manning the 'defence').
.
what a crock of shit

we are yet to finish lower than 7th since weve been in this division
us failing would be finishing 8th
facts are facts

we are and have been one of the top third of this division since joining it, fact
relegation fight , deary me I do despair at some peoples logic

True and I've not said it's impossible. But take any season from the last god knows how many years and no team with 37 points from the first 25 games has gone up automatically (to my knowledge) and I suspect most have finished outside the top 6.
thats what records are for , to get changed
but its my belief we will finish 5th

And what's your superior logic then? We'll get promoted because some fucking Polish 2nd division team was in a similar position 3 years ago? Or maybe some Bulgarian womens team? Or some other shite and wholly irrelevent analogy that's the hallmark of every single post you make?

I have witnessed this side first-hand throughout the season and no matter how many stats you shit out, the reality of Sheffield Uniteds situation remains unchanged.

And try reading the fucking post properly, that was a comment about United if they were in the Championship next season.

in my example above millwall hasd 37 after 26 games and finished 1 point off 2nd , if we win saturday we will be on 40 points, and able to just make it then

Here's a stat for you, no team in 7th place has ever been promoted, mull that one over.....

again look at any league one table
I only mentioned us
you appear to be drifting off to eastern europe
the stats are all sheffield united s no one elses
what are you basing our upcoming relegation on
, certainly not on the reality of our status
the analogy I used is where we have been in league one , not relevant enough for you

we have finished 3rd 5th 7th 5th and are currently 7th
you dont offer anything but gloom

where does 23rd come into it

we wont necessarily be in a dog fight cos your feeling a bit maudling

See this is why it's a good idea to actually read someones posts before quoting them.

My reference to United being in a relegation dogfight was if we were promoted this season. Not in this division.

its hard deciphering your posts amid all the doom and gloom , they are so dark
why would we
we wouldnt go in with exactly the same players
and the 4 championship clubs weve met in cups recently , we beat them all

if the pigs and rotherham can stay up ,,, but you feel free to kick us before we go for it

you need to stop being so negative
lifes too short

I am sorry but I will not just say
we are shit and we will never get better
because I am a blades fan
Ive seen us being really shit going to div 4
but knew we would get back one day
and I believe we will return again soon
I wont let turgid negative sorts who wallow in misery get in the way of that

oooh we lost to Shrewsbury , we cant go up ,no other teams ever lose to smaller clubs ever
thats the spirit , lads, what every club needs doomsday fans

I'll take that as an admission that you were wrong then....

I was always derided as a clapper in Blackwells era actually. I've even defended the board on numerous occasions.

This team on the whole is indefensible, the situation of the club being in its worst position in three decades is undeniable. When I see a glimmer of hope that this will change, I'll be the first to acknowledge it. I don't do relentless negativity in the case of some people or unjustified positivity in yours.

.

now there , how did you draw that conclusion
was it a thought you had in Poland
that Polish Bud is very strong aint it
I liked Blackwell , what wed give to finish 8th in the championship now eh
results wise he looks heroic now

again fans then complained we were shit, nothings changed
I am not over positive , just hopeful rather than hopeless
things dont have to get worse, football fortunes change all the time

no our defence is far too inconsistent too be any good, i think it will be next season because we cant keep giving team 2/3 goals headstarts & expect to make promotion challenge. if i was going to say i would guess 6th - 10th.

The stats show how tough an ask it will be because at moment we on for 68 pts, chesterfield last season was the 1st time since 92/93 that a total below 70pts was enough for 3rd tier playoffs & usually 2nd needs 87 pts, utd to achieve that needs 13 more pts from final 21 games than we achieve in 1st 25, (equivalent of a 111pt 46 game season)

Just had a look at that season. They had the same points as us after 25 games (37 points) and finished a point from autos. If we win 7 of our next 8 games like they did, we too will be in the mix. But how likely is that?

Millwall won 14 and drew 4 of their remaining 21 fixtures losing only 3 and it still wasn’t enough despite winning “6 pointers” against the likes of Leeds, Norwich, Charlton, Colchester etc. during that period. So in reality, we would probably have to do even better than that (winning say 16 of our remaining 21). That seems extremely unlikely. However, if we could win say 8, draw 5 and lose 8 of our remaining 21 games, that would get us a total of 76 points which ought to be enough to get in the top 6. That seems much more realistic. Plenty still to play for.

we will just have to 15 then
draw 3 lose 3
sorted

we WILL make a PO position - we are too inconsistent for top 2, even at this stage.

In a 3 game cup completion - why not?

UTB

weve cracked semi finals , got through more than weve lost
just got to jump the final hurdle , got some proper goal scorers this time , if they dont get locked up or injured

I'd say there's a slim chance of us going up.

We could only scrape the play offs and we concede goals for fun.

We seem to make the same mistakes game after game. Our defence is absolutely all over the place and doesn't seem to get any better unless we play ridiculously defensive. We seem to be unsure whether to play like that or go forward and attack. We will be lucky to make the playoffs and even if we do - who on earth would back a team with our playoff record who are liable to concede a goal at any given moment?
