Who should take our penalties?

I don’t believe that players, like Hamer, Blaster and Burrows as were my suggestions a few months ago, would turn down the opportunity if it was presented. It simply goes against their undoubted professionalism and belief in their own abilities. I might be wrong.

I have no idea what goes on in the background or in training. Who does ?

What I do believe my well trained eyes are telling me is that having Moore on penalties is, shall we say, sub optimal.

It’s my opinion he should now be instantly relieved of the duty.

It’s an admission that our opinions on the matter differ. Nothing more nothing less.

If you would prefer to take a morally higher ground, does not that say MUCH more about your own reluctance to accept a different perspective ? How else could you possibly have this wrong ?!

I’ve really enjoyed our little interaction but am now calling it a day. Let me explain why.

You come across as rather childlike in the way you express yourself. I may of course be wrong.

I have no desire to debate with someone who simply has not been to the school of life in a way some others may have.

Give it 30 years and you might just get it !!

Kieffer Moore has taken 12 penalties in his career scoring 8.

His previous 2 misses were actually his first 2 career penalties:
  • August 2014, for Yeovil versus Gillingham (Stephen Bywater)
  • November 2017, for Rotherham versus Shrewsbury (Dean Henderson)
Sods law that he then scores 7 from 7 before missing 2 in 3 when he signs for us 🤣

Regarding the 3 players you have listed, Hamer and Davies have never taken a penalty in professional football:

Could you, Mr Well Trained Eye, Mr Technical, explain what Moore does better than the McBurnie we saw last season?

I think you know that McBurnie is currently the better player but you are far too entrenched in your anti McB identity to possibly admit it. Now that's what's childlike

McBurnie has a a better goalscoring ratio in the Championship than Moore.

And McBurnie has scored more Premier League goals than Moore despite being four years younger.

Back on topic, of the current crop of players, why not alternate the next few pens between Hamer and O'Hare and see which one looks more comfortable with it.

I like both players and I was disappointed when McBurnie left in the summer.

There's not much in it but having watched them both play football for many years I'd say that McBurnie is the better player.

The claim that Moore has had a much better career is nonsense.

To you perhaps. Accepted. It’s your opinion. Mine differs.

KM has more “significant” numbers of transfer fees (albeit cumulatively less due to a major one off disproportionate fee) more career goals (I said career not just Championship career) more international caps (with comparable international squads).

Moore > McB. IMO.

In an ideal world, I’d want neither playing anything more than impact sub roles for a side challenging at the top of the Championship. It’s noticeable how the other sides in this position in or around us do not rely on OM / KM types, they go for pace and power.

We should also be going down this route going forwards.

Which leaves absolutely NO room for OM to come in. I understand his LP nickname is “runs in superglue”. Didn’t take their fans long.

Did it ?!!!!!!!

McBurnie has played more games and scored more goals than Moore at a higher level.

And he's four years younger.

But we'll agree to disagree.
