Who Is Robin Olsen?

Looks really poor. Never thought I’d consider wanting Foderingham in, but he’s not let us down this season.

Olsen is the Brewster of keeper.
Burke is a Burke & the Brewster of wingers.
Sorry but Didsy is almost the Brewster of strikers but he can't be cos Brewster is the owner of that title. Only the miss of all misses could actually make people forget the one on one (similar at the Hawthornes) shocking miss. Sorry but strikers are supposed to score.

We have had Deano H and Ramsdale, let both slip thorough our fingers and now we are In the position we are in!! It’s the Sheffield United way.

For me the worst thing about him, apart from the mistakes and seemingly being relatively comfortable to beat, is the fact that he just doesn't give any sort of impression that he really wants to actually be here.

I know we are never going to get another Henderson, with his rapport with the fans, but this bloke just looks like he'd sooner be doing something else.

I suppose he'll be good enough to help keep us up this year but I'd like to think that next season we might look at signing someone we can really get behind and be proud of.

Six foot five inches and will not attempt to catch a cross, even when there's no other player (not even 1 our players) in the area.
I never thought I would see a 'keeper who would watch easily catchable crosses fly across his area more than Ramsdale did, but this guy takes it to whole new level!! FFS
Solution!!,...
Hendo - not getting a game at man u
Fodderingham - AAAARGH!!, but not any worse than Olsen
Verrips - AAAARGH!!!!
Blackman - !!???
I could carry on but it's late and i'm extremely tired, moreso having witnessed tonight's shit-show!!

Who is Robin Olsen? What can we discover in 6 minutes? This video answers all the questions that you could find out yourself on Wikipedia.

This is why you shouldn’t listen to YouTube videos.

Its like the start of a bad joke.

Being not just a professional footballer, but an international player, yes I bloody would!
Roma obviously don't want him so wouldn't you want to prove them wrong and put yourself in the shop window for a move to another prominent club?

Not sure a championship club ours him for another prominent club. If anything we are 12 games in and he’s probably done more damage to his career in these 2/3 months.

So, you're saying you feel sorry for him that he's made the decision to come here?

He is hardly getting much protection is he though? Our defence and midfield is shit. Even Hendo would look creaky in this team.
What really amazes me is that Slavs style of play relies on a keeper being good on the ball and to me Olsen looks very nervous with the ball at his feet. He looks like a traditional English keeper who would be quite happy blasting it high and long down the middle of the field for a target man to contest.
Except he is trying to do that to 5 foot 8 Billy Sharp.
The whole system is f**ked. Olsen isn't great, he is a step up from Wes but we need to find a good permanent goalie who we can grow with.

For the wages he will be on, I'm happy to back the lad for the rest of this season as Slav tries to sort out this mess, and then come next May, we wave goodbye to Olsen and some of our other 'stars'. Thankfully, he is only on loan.

That said, hes still got 3 over 2 thirds of the season to go and he might improve his form. Hes not looked great so far, that's for sure and he does look like he is uncomfortable in coming for crosses which is a part of his game that I thought he would be strong on.

I expected him to be much better than he has been so far. I’ll try and give him benefit of the doubt for now though as he’s got a fragile defence in front of him.

Also let’s not forget how bad we thought Ramsdale was until around Christmas time last year.

Keith Waugh?

We seem to have yet another player who was perfectly competent when we signed him but is nowhere near as good as expected.

See also: Davies, McBurnie, Brewster.

Still waiting for the penny to drop with Slav. We simply haven’t got the skilful, quick thinking players required to play it out from the back. Even our supposed best defender (O’Connell) would struggle in a back four with our current style of play. With the midfield not offering any protection whatsoever to our defence and our defence not helping the goalkeeper much either. Olsen is always going to be exposed to shots on goal from anywhere around the edge of the box.

Steve Simonsen all over again. Fucking awful keeper who has made a handsome career out of constantly being an understudy and when he ends up No1, he gets found out.

Lets not forget the ball had gone in the back of the net before their opener. Although rightly given offside, it still somehow managed to find it's way in.

The inability to deal with that 'cross-come-shot' when your 6 ft 5 is inexcusable.

^^^ Couldn't have put it better myself.

It wont help the defenders either if they haven't got confidence in their keeper. Noticed Bogle last night on a couple of occasions playing into trouble because he clearly didn't want to pass back to Olsen even though it was the 'safer' option.

He's a funny one where despite being his country's number one, he's not played that many seasons as a genuine first choice keeper at a decent level, the Danish and Swedish leagues are akin to Scottish football. He gets the Sweden gig because of a lack of viable alternatives, Dahlberg at Donny is in their squad just to highlight the sort of levels he's competing against for that spot.

Last night was a big error on the first goal, there was the one against Preston where he came rushing out of his net and didn't get there and we're only in October so how many more is he going to notch up?

To give him credit, he's also made some good saves and at least seems to be able to get the mistakes out of his system fairly quickly in comparison to the Verrips horror show we saw at West Brom where he started terribly and just got worse.

I'm going to Stockholm in a couple of weeks so I'll gauge some opinion and see what they think of him because at the moment he doesn't look like much of an improvement on Foderingham.

Before the first goal there was another moment when they attacked down our right, crossed the ball in low and Olsen dived, let it hit his elbow and rebound into the net. Luckily the player was offside, but Olsen can't have known that for sure when trying to make the save.

Very uncertain on crosses, as we then found out again, and quite slow to get down.

Remember against Derby and Hull two relatively routine shots coming off his chest back in to the danger area nobody there to finish though...thought aye aye looks a bit suss.

We let Simon Moore go on a free fat more capable keeper than .. Olsen , Verrips & Foderingham ??? … Fuck knows what the goalkeeping coaches & scouts see .. must have Blunkett vision !

Never thought Ramsdale was that good actually. And Verrips and Foderingham are shite also. Moore is not a Premier keeper, but he's miles better than all our current 3. Seems daft to have released him
Also, why is it just us. Not all opposition keepers are world beaters, but they all look fairly solid. Certainly don't get the number of howlers that our keepers dish out.
These 3 make Simonsen look like Lev Yashin (ask your Dad).....
