On the back of a shoutbox question I asked, and given that JLT has made over 100 appearances for United despite being utter dog turd. I want to know which cheeky little scamp has managed to pull the wool over a managers eye's so much he can be rightly said to be our worst ever player with more than 100 appearances for us to his name?

Link of a list of all players with more than 100 appearances is below:

I'm saying JLT gets an honourable mention, but he's no Ryan Flynn or Michael Doyle. For number of appearances to shitness ratio, our very own traffic cone takes some beating, but Monty has some nostalgic wonderment to him and his complete lack of football ability so he gets a pass from me (which he would then mis control or boot down the line for Nuddy) so it's not him.

I think overall Doyle gets my vote for our worst.

Over to you.

From that list for me...... Stewart Houston....Bobby Ford & Monty. But ? we have had our fair share of duds to be honest ....;).

I know it's a boring path to tread, but I will never understand the criticism of Nick Montgomery. He put in 100% every single time, and made the absolute best of his abilities (which weren't as good as some players', but were certainly far better than some other effortless crap that we've had to put up with).

Edit: No votes for Steve Simonsen yet?

Tough to include JLT, Doyle, Monty. Worst player for us ever over 100 games? No.

Especially JLT, he's got limitations but has improved markedly over the years.

They all contributed, achieved and participated more for me than others.

Bromby, Collins, Simonsen were worse players imo.

What a mean spirited thread.
I’ve been searching for the right phrase to sum up how I feel about this thread and that is exactly it.

Anyone else struggle to understand the need to slag off current players, especially given how well we are doing at the moment? More wins than anyone else in the division and second place despite a points deduction.

Robinson has served us very well over recent years and has regularly been outstanding. He doesn’t deserve this abuse.

JLT certainly wouldn't win our player of the season award, but why you have to come out with such a crass comment about one of our current players is beyond me.
He has made a big contribution to our success this season.

I hadn't seen this comment before I replied in a similar way.
Totally unnecessary to attack one of our current players in this way.

Montgomery no contest

We had a lot of excellent midfielders here during Montgomery's time at the club, they were that good because they had Montgomery at the side of them, doing the leg work and allowing them to play, was he a great footballer no, but I guarantee anyone who played alongside him would not hold the same opinion

Stephen Quinn? Not even close.
Stephen Quinn was a good servant to the club and also a youth academy product. Should not even be close to being in the conversation.

Neither should Monty. He was outstanding in our PL season under Warnock - limited in ability yes but he always put in 110% effort and I'm sure I remember Patrick Vieira stating after an FA cup match that Montgomery man marked him out of the game.

Only one winner for me. And by a fuckin' mile. Peter Katchouro. Complete and utter waste of space. 40 year old Steve Ogrizovic gave him a 10 yard start in a run at goal from 30 yards for a tap in to an empty net in a cup match at Coventry. Still caught him though.
Honourable mention - John Burridge. Complete clown of a goalie.....

Blackwells fault he took all them stupid near-post corners .

I’m going to get pelters for these two, but …… Paul Beesley and Jamie Hoyland.

Talk about getting the absolute maximum out of bang average players.
