I'm struggling with this.

See, the board have truly failed to back Selles. This is a situation almost entirely of their own making, amateurish, shambolic, embarrassing, inexcusable. However, the aspect that Selles can control (the game plan) has also been difficult/lacklustre.

I can see a change before the end of Sept. I can see a quick turnaround and kiss and make up with Wilder and Knilleh. I'm not saying that to trigger anyone. It just wouldn't surprise me, this season is already batshit crazy to begin with.

He'll be sacked after the next two matches/defeats because the players are not having him.

The owners will then have to sack him to cover up their own enormous stupidity and complete lack of footballing knowledge in appointing him in the first place.

Then, they'll either feed their own ego's again and appoint another 'statistical' nightmare or maybe they'll learn and actually consult someone who knows something about the game before appointing an experienced man-manager with a sensible, balanced game plan that fits the players we already have and can be easily understood by everyone.

Either way, they'll take an age to do anything and they'll be no communication with the fanbase. Fucking Chansiri communicates better.

Big week ahead.

Telling you now, all the unacceptable negativity on social media and on this forum, all the unacceptable negativity being written by the vindictive Danny Hall is having the adverse effect to what people want, because it is making Ruben Selles more determined than ever to make this work

Hes not coming back😊

They gave Wilder a good contract, then sacked Him. They got Selles probably a decent contract; it looks like he will be sacked because of his very poor performance shortly.
I bet that cost the club a load of money. The owner's fault, can they get it right this time and appoint a decent manager who will finish in the top six or, unlikely, automatic promotion. Time will tell.

Wilder's COH contract would likely have been a decent salary with a hefty promotion bonus...and a relatively affordable severance clause.

I would have taken 8th - 10th this Eason while we transition as a club on and off the field.

We can absolutely not accept relegation which is what this guy will achieve.

I can see no transition on the pitch it’s a complete mess
I cannot accept anything less than play offs again this season! We are a parachute payment team……it’s our last chance to use that advantage.

He will get the next 3 as a minimum but that Charlton game looks huge for him. Every chance we go into that on 0 points and if he doesn't win that day he cannot survive it.

Wilder lost his first 4 so has Sellers , Sat will be the start of a winning run , boro wont know whats hit them , get your money on , be a good price , printing money , you heard it here 1st , i will bump this up again after our glorious away victory , trust me !!

I also give financial advice for anyone whos wishes to give me their money for investment !
I think Wilder drew one in there somewhere - Rochdale at home?

Sellés start is bad but it's nowhere near the worst in the last 10 years. Wilder lost 5/5 (albeit one on penalties) at the start of 2020/21 and Heckingbottom lost the first four (again, including a defeat on penalties) in 2023/24.

Wilder's first five in 2016/17:
Bolton 1-0 United
United 1-2 Crewe (LC R1; AET)
United 1-1 Rochdale
Millwall 2-1 United
United 2-1 Oxford

WIlder's first five in 2020/21
United 0-2 Wolves
Burnley 1-1 United (LC R1; Burnley won 5-4 on penalties)
Villa 1-0 United
United 0-1 Leeds
Arsenal 2-1 United
(we drew the sixth at home against Fulham before losing our next 8, drawing the 15th match against Brighton, losing 16,17 & 18 before finally winning at the 19th attempt)

Heckingbottom's first five in 2023/24
United 0-1 Palace
FOReST 2-1 United
United 1-2 Man City
United 0-0 Lincoln (LC R1; Lincoln win 3-2 on penalties)
United 2-2 Everton
(we lost the next 6 including the 0-8 at home to Newcastle and 5-0 away at Arsenal before finally winning at the 13th attempt)

The worst start to a Sheffield United manager's time at the Lane belongs to Micky Adams. We took until his 13th match in charge to register a victory (D4 L9) as he took us from a relegation battle to being rock bottom in the space of two months.

Disagree. From what I’ve seen we are already in a relegation battle because I simply don’t think he has a clue how to set up a team to have the required structure to not concede if necessary. That leaves attacking. Which so far has been spectacular has it not? Disorganised fuck up more like.
His record at Hull suggests he does have a clue since they apparently conceded less than we did during his time there.

If he's sacked because the players aren't having him, can we fuck the players off aswell?

Not many will post or agree with this because of the subjects being mentioned, but the old porkers last night looked organised and motivated, and also looked like they wanted to give it a go, played as a team...

I've only missed the Birmingham game up to now, and we look clueless, disjointed, confused and vulnerable up front and at the back, I cant talk about a midfield because we dont have one..

Whatever Seles' is saying to them, theyre not listening to him in my opinion...

They'll bomb the season before playing for this manager, and Saturday we face the first "really good" team of the season followed bay another "really good" team..

Iv'e said before that sitting them down on the pitch has done for him..

If you can’t accept it I genuinely look forward to seeing what you do if it comes to pass. What does you not being able to accept something look like? I’m intrigued, and guessing it could be funny! 😁

He didn't sit them down

Sooner the better. Pigs are the team with passion and effort.

We'll still finish above them, but this idiot coach needs to be moved on, wouldn't you say Hull City?

It's a funny old world when one side of the city can't get a tune out of above average Championship players, yet on the other side,a bunch of kids and reserves are playing out of their skin to help keep a guy who doesn't pay them as a viable owner of their club

yes your right wednesday players and juniors responding to the clubs perilous position while too many of our better quality players still sulking about wilder getting sacked they need to start earning their salaries and quick

If they are only going to give him the Boro and Ipswich games they may have well pull the trigger now,

If they are giving him these games, which we have no chance in, we might as well give him the Charlton game.

Anyone not wanting him sacked, look at Hull. Avoided the drop on goal difference, sat comfortably mid table. It's not a complete turnaround, but still a big improvement, even if the season is early.
