Silly these threads let's be honest.

He wasn't my choice and it was abit of a shock but he deserves a chance with the new players coming in as what's the point bringing anyone in he wants 🤷‍♂️
Same lot that were after wilder fucking off cos he couldn't handle a bigger club after 4/5 matches.

After next week we are locked in for months so if results don't improve significantly,he's the only change to make,so it's all up to him what happens, although what the owners version of success this season is unknown of course, the way things are shaping up at just the basic football level on the pitch, just avoiding relegation is where we are at,it's up to Selles to change that narrative with what he will have at his disposal, but hopefully we will be looking in a few weeks at play offs being a realistic aim.
If it does come to a manager change, what are we going to get from the owners then?, because if they turn out to be trigger happy and clueless,it could be a 3/4 manager season

Give him to end of September before we starting any more when is he going threads.

Not saying he will make it, but give him a proper squad and see how he does.

I reckon if he had last seasons squad intact, we would have seen a very different start to the season.

.........................Cooper.......................

Seriki.....Anel......Holding......Burrows

.........Souza.....Peck.........O'hare......

JRS..........Campbell............Hamer

Set that side at it and I think would would have been dancing

With the squad we have, and will have, we're not at avoiding relegation at this point at all.

We've lost three league games without playing much inspiring football at all but we're a long way away from being in a relegation battle with the squad we have. We're still in August with a squad that if utilised correctly, could easily be a top 6 contender.

If Selles doesn't improve matters significantly in the next month or so, I think we all realise he'll be gone.

If we're still bottom at that point, a new manager will be coming in to get results, not spend time experimenting.

I would say it will likely happen within one of the forthcoming internal breaks i.e.

1-9th Sept
6-14th Oct
10-18th Nov

Although too many of the same threads being created, realistically if Wilder wasn't a blade, he probably wouldn't have ended up at us in the 1st place. His managerial career up to that date was promoting teams via the playoffs from the Conference to the Football league and battling against relegation along with 1 successful season at Northampton. After the 1st 4 games on here, there was talk of how long has he got and that League 1 season ended us getting 100 points. It's difficult to say if Selles will turn out to be the right man or not however I can't see any other manager being able to do any better when your spine of your team is being ripped away and you were left with RND at CB alongside the notoriously shaky and doesn't want to be here Robinson.

I think he will get at least 10 games which takes us up to and including the Watford game. Anything less than 3 wins and a couple of draws from the next 7 will see him gone I think...although difficult to see where those points are coming from with 4 away and 3 at home;

Boro (a)
Ipswich(a)
Charlton (h)
Oxford (a)
Soton (h)
Hull (a)
Watford (h)

Can't see anything but defeats against Boro, Ipswich and Soton so that's got to be wins against 3 of Charlton, Oxford, Hull or Watford to keep him in a job. The way we are playing that's difficult to imagine.

Dead man walking springs to mind.

That said, we could bring in Tanganga, Mee, Ings and Woo and things could quickly turn....

Only two teams in the last 30 promoted have done it with 2 points or less at this stage of the season, and only one with 0 points (Forest via the playoffs).

If we lose at Boro he needs to be sacked and a replacement slotted straight in. The summer transfer window was a car crash, as was the prevarication about potting CW. Hopefully the board learn their lesson and act quickly.

And replaced with who? Promotion doesn't have to be the goal this year and even if it does and we go down the gamble of the playoffs. Bristol City got in with 68 points even 67 points would have done it or 66 if you have had a better goal difference than Blackburn. A hell of a long way to go

I've gone November. Think it will be longer.

An owner who admits mistakes has a chance of correcting this situation. It would also cost a lot of money.

If he can shore up the defence, get an attacking centre mid' and a striker he could turn the season around, and the supporters.
I'm still not convinced his style of play will get us promoted though

Promotion should absolutely be the goal, we came third last year, any owner with ambition would want to go one better

Someone who can get us performing better than Wednesday and has an idea of getting us promoted. This boy ain’t it.

We spent half the summer wringing our hands and deluding ourselves with bollocks about “getting better value at the end of the transfer window”, and here we are. We lose at Boro and we need to pot Selles and try and stay in the mix for a playoff run or better.

It’s drinking the Kool Aid again isn’t it? We have to try and get up this season otherwise we’re bollocksed. We’ll need to sell and apart from Cooper there’s not many worth much.

If we sign mee ings and tanganga hes going nowhere cant afford the signings and pay off a managwmwnt team,.
Anyhow of all the names in the frame on here, cooper is the stand out candidate ,dont hink hed come to a squad which doesnt play his style and 4 months to another window, wouldnt look good on his c.v.When bobbing about mid to lower tablr
Seen 9 teams playing a lot better football than we are, 3 games in

I had initially said 10 games but I think he will be sacked on 8, sitting the players down on the pitch worked wonders for Seles' didn't it..

Somebody in shoutbox has said he never spoke to the team at half time on Saturday as well.

We can only hope there is a mutual termination clause which allows both parties to make a break, hopefully with a "sensible" agreed fee..

I was all for him, but I think it's not gonna work out based on what I've seen..

From what happened with Wilder this Board might like the next manager in place before sacking Selles so could be a while.
