When September Ends............

As we haven't played them in over a decade it's worth reminding people about our terrible record at Sunderland.

We have never won at the Stadium of Light. Since the War, our record at Roker Park and the Stadium of Light is:

League: Won 2 Drew 7 Lost 17
Cups and Playoffs: Won 0 Drew 1 Lost 4

Our two wins were in 1987 in front of a soon to be relegated Sunderland's lowest ever league home crowd, and as part of the 7 match winning run in 1991 when Hodges did his headbutt in the mayhem after the game. We did not win there between 1927 and 1987.

We have also not won at Bolton in the League in 10 attempts - our last win was in 1977 - though of course we won there in the Cup under Robson.
I have been to Roker Park twice but never to Stadium of Light. The two visits were Sept 1989 (1-1, Bryson) and March 1991 (won with a Bryson goal). The good news is that I will be at Stadium of Light for the first time on Sept 9th! :)

Could have easily lost to Brentford and Boro could have been out of sight in that game. We're not going to be gifted goals like Satdi every week either, just sayin'........
You're right but it makes no difference that had it not been for such a ridiculous decision we should've only suffered 1 defeat.

August was a tricky month and so will ever month to the end of the season.....how I see it is if we win our next 11/12 games we'll be safe UTB

The last 2 look tough based on the starts teams have had. Sunderland, Norwich, Pigs- all decent sized clubs with budgets that blow us out the water but all have had up and down starts and look beatable. Bolton are shit but being away always makes it tougher.
