P.S. Does anyone think I should apply for a job at The Sun thinking headlines up ?
No.
Thought you were telling us what you were up to tonight?
Brilliant. I think it's got lost in the crowd, though!P.S. Does anyone think I should apply for a job at The Sun thinking headlines up ?

"There's no manager living could have done any better than he has under the curcumstance he's been made to work under"
Now that is probably the funniest thing I have ever heard.
Don't know what you're on but can I have some please.
I fear relegation next season if nothing changes, i really do.![]()
Sorry mate but I disagree ....... all the managers you list have their teams playing better football than us (more watchable) and with the players we do have, all of which are CAPABLE of playing a passing game as we have seen in short patches, I would argue that my mum could get us playing more entertaining football on the same resources.I've asked this before but here goes again. Hollawy, Stracken , O'Driscoll, Coleman and the Reading managers teams are all on roughly the same points as Blackwell and United. To hear people talk Hollaway has worked wonders as has the Reading manager. O'Driscoll is Gods gift to football management. Stracken and Coleman are rebuilding. Are there fans asking for their blood I wonder. Yet some United fans go on about nothing else other than getting Blackwell the boot. Some say he should have had the balls to tell McCabe if he was going to sell players from under him he would resign. Do these people live in the real world, turn away from a £400,000 a year job. I don't think so to do that would have been verging on sheer stupidity. It isn't Blackwells fault United are in the financial state they are. There's no manager living could have done any better than he has under the curcumstance he's been made to work under.
The Board will only give him the boot if they are forced into it by the supporters, because he is a yes man following their instructions without question.Or walk?
Lots of posts flying around wanting him out now, at the end of the season or sometime soon. I fear we will have got to go through another year of bad football, loanees, excuse after excuse, and lots of hugs for opposition managers. So what will it take for him to get the boot or walk?
Boot
Poor season ticket sales?
3-6 points between now and the end of the season?
A bottom half finish?
Player fall outs?
Shoes off in car park?
Both Donny and Barnsley above us?
Walk
Asked to make further cuts?
Sell before you buy?
McCabe to sell up?
Anymore thoughts are welcome![]()
He might have had his hands tired, but his signings have been woeful.
He won't be sacked, he'll walk on his own sighting lack of investments and lack of fan patience.
Havie you been watching the games Willie?
How people can defend the man that is leading that debacle is beyond me.
Your statement is bold just makes me laugh. Hnag on, it's you isn't it Kevin? He has slowly managed to turn a good team bad. He might have had his hands tired, but his signings have been woeful. He has refused to play players who are good quality becuase they don't fit into his system. As Grecian points out his negativity is the worst factor. He has refused to play qaulity players because they 'can't defend', constantly plays players out of position and is tactically inept. His style is defend and hoof. Not only is it boring to watch, but it doesn't work. We've been found out and we're going downhill. Exactly the same way he took Leeds and Luton.
Willie,
We could all agree to disagree on whether Blackwell could have done better or not given the cards he was dealt.
But the bigger issue is that we have a complete rebuilding job in the summer, a lot of players to bring in, and do we really want Blackwell to be the man recruiting them with his blueprint for playing the game?
For me, it's a definite no.
This is a chance to start again with a manager dedicated to getting us playing football and stamping that culture on the club and right throughout the club.
The worst possible outcome will be Blackwell bringing in another collection of odds and sods, more of the same with no discernable pattern of play, a relegation battle, an inevitable sacking and a batch of Blackwell-acquired players all then on full contracts.
I'm not giving credit to Blackwell for playing good football Len but with the tools he's had he's done well to keep United in with a shout as long as he did. I think credit where credits due. It could be time to move on but who is the manager who could do what you say? What I've seen of some of the forums whoever takes over from Blackwell if he did go would have similar treatment as Blackwell has. I know your a fan of Mick McCarthy as I am. The season before they were promoted their crowd were shouting for his head. I said when Blackwell came he should be given at least 3 years to do the job. During that time the goalposts have been moved through our financial situation. No matter how this came about its a fact that it's been a major factor to what has happened. Who do you think fans would have the patience with and give time to build a good successful team in say 3 years ?
This tells me he is going nowhere and he knows it.

Blackwell will still be here next season, Len, we all know that don't we?

You might just find that Blackwell surprises us all

To be honest, I don't think he will go down that route - well I hope to heaven he doesn't - you got me worried now![]()
