While I think some of the claims when he was flying of him being an England international in the future were way over the top there's undoubtedly a good championship player in him. With rustiness and strong competition in his position I am not expecting him to be in full flow this season.

If he shows anything like the performances at the start of last season then he’ll outperform Peck. What we’re seeing with Sydie is the benefit of two consistent seasons playing first team football at a good level, which Arblaster hasn’t managed. There are a few others that have struggled by not playing minutes at this point in their career. Amissah, Gordon, Lopata, Marsh, even Osula and Jebbison to a lesser degree.
