I'll pass on that one Sitters - Just keep it to friendly banter on here if you don't mind!must be without ,no tears here. Shame youve gone too far over because i used to enjoy your posts ,although you need to check your research ,nobody was more anti Blackwell than me when he was manager. As for your new found foghorn disciples ,fuck me![]()
I'm not sure how it all works either but based on those figures, the 660k would roughly free up 12,700 a week wages, plus whatever Blackman was on, plus the supposed money McCabe said was available regardless.....please point out any corrections I'm merely speculating like yourself.
However taking all that into account.....we could only afford a loan player and a contract to the end of the season?! Wow.....those two must be on a lot of money!
Don't forget we apparently offered £400K for Dundee United's Johnny Russell:-

We didn't get him of course, so the wage we set aside for him must still be available to Wilson in the loan market.
I for one am almost giddy with excitement wondering who we're going to bring in.
Southampton were in fucking admin !
Shredds, reading your blog you say:
"wait and see the state of the squad versus Coventry City on Friday before hammering your keyboards or opening your mouth."
Are you going to do a post-deadline verdict? I've not had an Alco style inversion, but I cannot defend McCabe's counterproductive pronouncements, or the strategy that this window revealed.
No stirrings of discontent? Not even a twitch?![]()
would you prefer to be shot?yes millions died so we could moan
JohnDenver Here you go. Took a slightly different tack http://aunitedview.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/the-blades-way.html
A superb resume of where we are / where we are going - Top StuffTerrific stuff. It's really worth sending that to the club as it covers just about every salient issue on the go just now.

Swansea a decade ago had to beat Hull on the last day to stay in div 4 and the league set up , this month they play in the league cup final as favourites over bradford , then probably take the trophy back to their brand new stadium to show off in their next premier league game, just shows anything can change in football ,and Man City sneaked into the division one play offs , and came from 2-0 down against Gillingham with 87 minutes gone in the final , so perhaps theres chance we might not be the first club to have a low ebb , who knows what lays ahead, I wonder if both sets of those 2 clubs fans were as negative as we seem to be
great article as per.JohnDenver Here you go. Took a slightly different tack http://aunitedview.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/the-blades-way.html
How old are you, seriously?
When you have put up with the shit us oldies have (in my case since the mid 1960's) what gets me is this.
It doesn't care who the chairman is, the manager, the players, the club always bugger it up at the final hurdle. If it were SUFC v Bradford, Bradford would win. I say that not as a knocker but hell when, ever have SUFC delivered when it mattered?
Most of our promotions have been reasonably earned. I don't recall a flukey promotion though getting up at Hull's expense based on their inability to score another goal at Turf Moor was close. Relegations - fuck me. Nearly everyone has been a bloody fluke - Chelsea, Wigan, Walsall it goes on. Don't start me on play offs, cup semis etc.
It's this CONTINUAL failure that pisses me off. Nothing else. I love the Blades with a passion but boy am I fed up with mediocrity that some on here just love to relish in.
When United actually win something I might think this horrendous under achieving will end. Unitil that day we will, outside of S2, be a joke club that has no bottle. To illustrate I remember years ago joshing with a Brighton fan, who of course took Man U to a FA Cup final replay. His withering comment then was the nearest United had got to Wembley in recent times was seeing it on the Underground map! OK since then we've had 3 play off visits but I think you'll get the sentiment.
So if I have a plea, it is to see an end to this perenial failure.
Maybe like the rest of the footballing world they see us as the largest supported under achieving perennial bottlers on the planet. Why is a Brighton fan taking the piss when they've never won anything?

Good for you mate...... wow what a heroSounds like you as you can't even get the bottle to go to matches. It's shit for all of us but doesn't mean we stop going

come on get serious
what are we ever likely to win
footballs changed no money = no goodey
see us win something , like what ?
promotion yes can do that , a play off final , we will do , one day
but the prem , arsenal and liverpool cant do that now
the fa cup , top 4 or lunatic club over spending by 300 million can win that
league cup , who cares
the things we have achieved , 8/9 promotions in my life are the zenith of what we can achieve
unless we get an oil baron in charge
to expect much else is like expecting to win 28 million on the euro lottery
Im consigned myself to the belief we are now at best , a good championship top ten contender, on a good day, I think realism needs to pervade the minds of others who still think we are a top division club being held back by a mad chairman , instead of accepting the reality of it all
