United's YouTube channel have just uploaded the following short feature on the work of the SUFC Community Foundation and in this particular example, of Dean Henderson meeting a fan.
This video is a true pleasure to watch. Personally, for someone who works with young people with additional needs, I found it to be a clear indication of the positive opportunities the SUFC Community Foundation can provide for young people, such as Kyle, who clearly receives a good level of support to enable him to pursue his individual ambitions and qualifications. That said, you don't need to be in my line of work to see the good being done here. This is what a community club, a family club should absolutely be, anyone can see that. Well done SUFC.
The lad himself, Kyle, is an absolute blast to listen to. His quick wit and his charm is clear to see, he's a credit to himself and to SUFC and it's not hard to see why he was put forward for this feature, nor is it hard to see why Deano wished to be a part of this. Keep an eye out for his banter, both at the expense of Deano "Pablo Hernandez" and himself "you're preying on the vulnerable" and "he plays for England 21s like me, but he's obviously in the normal one". Well done Kyle.
And finally, bags of praise to Deano. This isn't just any old premier league youngster, hyped up and off to the division below to get some experience. He is clearly a grounded, humble young man and amongst the highest calibre of role model we have had here for a long time. He hasn't just arrived on loan, he's fully endeared himself to the fans and immersed himself into SUFC life and is finding out what it means to be a part of a club that plays an integral role in the local community and the responsibility he holds as a member of that club. He clearly has all the ability and maturity to go as far in the game as he wants to and he's destined for big things. It may not be with us, but put it this way, if he does decide to stick around a little while longer it won't be difficult to see why, and we'll partly have Kyle to thank. Well done Deano.
