Next round of League One fixtures inlcude;

Us v Oldham (5th v 9th - 3pts the difference)
Bristol City v Preston (1st v 3rd)
Peterborough v Swindon (2nd v 7th)

Could be a massive 3 points for us if we can get them this weekend. League table could look very rosey.

But what is it about Oldham at home that makes me feel uneasy?!

Good chance to prove we're in it for the long haul, having said that, just when you think things are going right or we could stamp some authority, they have a strange way of fucking up for us,nothing's easy for us it seems,it's the blades way.

We haven't beaten Oldham at home since we've been down here.

Lost 3-2 when 2-0 up in the first Wilson season (Lowton and Harry sent off?)
Drew 1-1 second season (when Croft and the ball boy had a run in, conceded in 96th minute after Hill slipped)
Drew 1-1 last year (played pretty dire, Baxter wonder free kick giving us a point).

So yeah, that's probably why you're uneasy. Also, they seem to hate us for some reason, meaning it's a 'rivalry' game for them.

Edit - think that's the only team I've seen us play at home all 3 seasons we've been down here. Might be a good thing I'm missing Saturday!

With the exception of last year we had the points right in our hand and chucked them away, so yes there's good reason for your uneasiness, HeCanDoMagic

They are also going quite strongly this year. But I'd hate us to be too fearful of a team with Forte up front. Hopefully we'll start to mean business at home and put those bad memories to bed with a ruthless display.

Furthermore, the last time we played them, Porter scored.

Just saying :p

put those bad memories to bed with a ruthless display.

Mmmm, ruthless.

As adjectives go that's about as far away from us as is possible to get at the moment.

Are you sure you didn't mean toothless?

Oldham should hold no fears for us (scabies and dysentery aside when playing at their place) and are just the sort of team a side serious about automatic should be seeing off.

Yes,stay away:D

Didn't that result in "the end" for Billy Mac? Every cloud and all that.

We once scored 7 past them in the equivalent of the JPT (I think) many moons ago. I actually wrote to ugly Joe Royle after the game as he was quoted as saying we never had the ball out of the sky (old Bassett days). I wrote and suggested we had it below 8 feet on at least 7 occasions. Never did get a reply . . . .

They beat us 5-0 at t'Lane once. Still traumatized.

You think you had it bad? I was the "lucky" mascot that day. Mind you, McEwan left n Bassett came in so I'm claiming I was lucky - in a way. You can tell we were crap though - my favourite player picture was Tony Philliskirk ...

Anyway, it was 5-2. I put two past Oldham's keeper in the warm up. ;)

Well done you. They say realising you've got the problem is the first step to a cure. Must have been hard to admit to that in an open forum . . .

As a 6-year old, I think I just liked his name.

A year later, if you'd asked me who he was, the 7-year old version of me would have said, "Who? Do you mean Deane and Agana?"
