exactly.. you aren’t a spokesman for anyone
if you can’t see how our record wouldn’t have an effect then i can’t help you mate

You need to help yourself. In fact, indirectly you’re agreeing with my original post. You’re almost saying because we’ve screwed up before then we’re guaranteed to screw up again?

But why? This is a different era, different management and different players. Very different. I’m not saying we’ll do it, like you I so hope we do, but for goodness sake try and get behind them until it’s all over.

no i’m not agreeing with your post you were slagging off our fans .. telling them not to turn up., i think we can do it see my other posts ..

no i’m not agreeing with your post you were slagging off our fans

I’m slagging off those who were so quick to turn their backs on the squad after 3 indifferent results. And rightly so. If the cap fits.... some of you lot were no doubt the same pundits who wanted Wilder out after 4 games.

Nobody at all wanted Wilder our after 4 games

Your type are every bit as bad as the slashers you’re aiming your posts at are

If it were up to you we’d still be in League One under Clough setting up to defend away at Accrington. If it were up to them we’d be on our 14th manager in the same league, struggling in mid table.

Good job there is middle ground - otherwise known as common sense.

My ‘type’ is what? Get behind the lads at the business end of the season and on the brink of achieving something great?

And yours is moan like fuck, ignore all current reality and cite our issues in league one again. That ship has sailed, get with the current programme, unless you enjoy being ‘right’ on an Internet forum.

What do mentally strong people do then, just lie and pretend?
They don’t turn on the manager after a substitution doesn’t pay off, or whatever pathetic justification you’ve got for it.

Criticism on here isn't 'turning on the manager'. Get a grip and don't be so precious..... as so many are.

Yer can do one with your Nigel Adkinsesque OP too, I don't see anyone abandoning ship so bugger off with your hard man talk of who you'd want at your side in the trenches the fans are not to blame for the shit show yesterday that is down solely to the players retreating as soon as they got in front. Did you not see Wilder waving them to get forwards ? Probably not, too busy wondering how you can blame the support which to be fair was good at times considering the shit performance the players put on after we scored, and you have the cheek to say I and others talk garbage! Like I said above jog on.

Wilder was actually telling the defence to gerritforraad for most of the game. He waved them forward when the ball was cleared from our area. They were pretty slow to react.

The fans are to blame 100% - The way we put Coutts on for Duffy was poor, and the kop telling the team to drop back on their 6 yard line was shocking. Us fans have a lot to answer for.

How exactly do you know what my ‘type’ is?

I am far from a slasher. I’m a realist. Not a moron. Not sure I can say the same about yourself.

who is turning on the manager?
nobody has ‘ever’ turned in Chris Wilder not even after the first 4 games
that said surely we are allowed to say ‘Crainie for billy was a bonkers substitution’ . what do we know? i’m sure Chris doesn’t give a fuck what we think and rightly so but i’m sure he also knows people might have opinions.everyone has an opinion but noone is turning on the team or the manager
save the drama for eastenders

Well I've read some shit posted on these threads in the last couple of days.
We're all hurting I get that, but to turn on the manager and players by some posters is a fucking disgrace.
One on here yesterday called the team cunts and wankers. What the fuck is that all about?

I was there at St Andrews in 75, Walsall, Bristol City, Chelsea, Wigan, Play-offs, Cup Semis. Believe me I've seen some shit and felt the pain.

Wilder, Knill and the squad have given us a tremendous few seasons and this is how they're repaid. I wouldn't blame Wilder or the players if they all fucked off at the first opportunity after seeing this meltdown.

you started this thread.. you had the original post criticising the fans for getting a bit restless after it appeared we might miss out in autos telling them not to turn up like you are in charge and them being astonished when some people objected

we were all there mate.. you missed Darlington then? Chris is a big lad i’m sure he doesn’t give a fuck what is written on here in the heat of the moment and neither do the lads

There's some good points made and I agree with much of above but the fans really do not affect things on the field as much as some make out. I am not sure any internet forum has any relevance to the confidence. I think the players do and will get our backing but sadly manys feelings are based on lots and lots of let downs. I can understand the frustration and will never criticise fans for feeling we have blown it when we are still in a great position. Many are drawing on years of experience watching SUFC. The only way to turn it round and for fans to not be as defeatist is for the club to succeed more. We are probably the biggest underachieving big club post 2nd World War in the country.

People saying same old United say it as invariably they do let you down. This one feels different though as the team has massively overachieved but we got in a great position. It's just that as last season we've run out of steam seemingly. Its not like the team are not doing their best. It is just frustration and disappointment really. I don't think the fans can slam Wilder/the team. They may look tired and made a few poor decisions but are doing their best. That is all we can ask.

I can understand fans frustration. I think a lot of comments are that rather than out and out criticism. The fans hopefully will give them one last go for the next few and you never know but if you asked 10 United fans this morning if they think they've blown it then probably 8 would say they have. The only way to change this pessimistic approach is for the club to be more successful. It is odd as I have seen 5 promotions in my life but seen 4 relegations I think but so many play off defeats/cup semi defeats seems to almost have made so many Blades feel like we rarely do it when it matters.

Thank you. My thoughts exactly. Seen this scenario too many times. 1-0 up,player sent off, they miss a penalty. Most teams would’ve got away with it. But oh no,not Sheffield United. The remaining 10 men put that extra bit of effort in to make sure we balls it up at the death!!

I was that desperate to win yesterday that I thought, now that we are in the land of the giants, after Egan was sent off ( and we had lost Bash), why not put Madine back in defence and swop him with Norwood or Coutts up front, they were winning every fucking ball in the air and the equaliser had an air of inevitability about it

What have we got to be pessimistic about? We’re doing great overall, no one on this forum expected us to have a chance of automatic at the start of the season. No one.

We’re struggling now and the players and the coaches need patience, support and respect. They’ve earned it. I’m far from being a ‘clapper’, in fact I’m anything but, I loathed the Adkins season and was bewildered by Clough’s second season and I knew he was getting the bullet. I’m 41 and witnessed every play-off final and cup semi defeat.

But this squad of players and management have provided me with the best memories Ive ever had of been a Blade. I’m not going to bail on them now, no way, and nor should you and the rest of the dummy spitters and toy throwers.

So that’s who the f**k I am.

I would say that when it comes to the play offs we have plenty to be pessimistic about if, that is the route that has to be negotiated to get promotion. Villa are a different proposition to the ones we have faced earlier, and it would take a huge upturn in form to turn Bristol City over.

“Wilder has bottled it”

If you can’t see that for what it is then there’s no point explaining further.

We need to remember how to close out games. Just in the last 4 games alone we’ve taken the lead in all of them - keep a clean sheet and we would be joint TOP, never mind Leeds. That’s just in the last 4 games, when we needed to step it up, we stepped it down.

We've scored first in 12 of the last 13 games (every game except the 0-0* at Swillsborough). The results - most recent last - have been very good, but have taken a hit in the last four games:
W Bolton - home, D - Villa away :(, W Middlesbrough - home, W Reading - home, W WBA - away, D* Pigs - away, W Rotherham - home, W Brentford - home, W Leeds - away, L Bristol - home, W Preston - away, D Birmingham - away, D Millwall - home.

You really are a full weight prick. I’m not blaming the fans, but I think yours and a loud minority of their reactions was harsh in the extreme. Why can’t we accept collectively that we had a bad day at the office? If anyone has earned some slack it’s Chris and the players.

Adkins was a delusional c**t, but you’re doing you’re best to ignore all other perspective because you pay your money.

Mate …… the players had a "bad day at the office" against Villa …….. and failed to learn from the experience o_O

They've then done similar against Bristol C (H), Birmingham(A) and Millwall(H) in short succession and I don't think that you can say that the players delivered the goods at any of those games …… at an absolutely PIVOTAL time of the season.

I was at all those games and it has to be said the players were significantly "below par" with their collective performances …… no exceptions. Its almost as if they're frightened at the prospect of promotion, is the only way I can describe it.

I'm old enough to remember the majority of our heart-rending disappointments, like relegation to L4 etc …….. and so I'm not surprised, but I am angry and I am desperately disappointed at us pressing the self-destruct button (again) and hurling away 6 crucial points in the above mentioned games.

I'm also prepared to speculate that there are a few players who have ruled themselves out of Tufty's plans for next season with their recent slump at such a crucial time ……. :(:(:(

As always ….. UTB & FTP
